“When I end my day like this and go back home, sometimes many people welcome me only when my family hasn’t slept, when my sister and mom are still up. But actually, when I go back home after my radio show, they’re already asleep almost every time because it’s past 2:30am. I feel sorry if I wake them up, so I go in very carefully. I feel sorry even to open the door, so I go in very, very carefully. But there’s my puppy that catches those slight sounds and comes out for me. There’s my puppy named Byulroo. And I’m very thankful for her, so I put her behaviour in the first part of the lyrics: ‘Hold out your hand. Wrap around my neck, a little lower. Massage my shoulders.’ That’s all written with the love I poured into her, feeling how thankful I am. No matter how hard and weary my day is, she comes to me and is like, ‘Cheer up, oppa!’ Even while sleeping she wakes up energetically and comes out for me so I’m really thankful. I hope you all have something or someone just like Byulroo for me, at least one. And if you haven’t found something like that yet, hopefully you’ll listen to this song and take comfort. That’s why I wrote 'End of a Day’.”
