To everyone who complains about team D still being here I want you to sit for one second and read what I have to say.

Imagine for a moment you have a favorite on the walking dead. Imagine that favorite is promised a great story and a great journey that you’ll love. Imagine being excited for said journey and tuning in to watch. Then imagine them shooting your fave in the head. Your fave is now dead.

Yeah happens all the time right? People lose their favorite characters.

Well now imagine watching the next episode and planning on it being sad because you know they’re going to bury said favorite character and you know it’ll hurt but you’ll get to see them all mourn and cry over the grave of the one who just died.

Well guess what buttercups?? That didn’t happen for Beth Greene. Instead we were shown another grave and instead of getting to mourn our fave character like everyone else, we get shown another death. Another character’s death completely overshadows your favorite and they don’t get a grave, a funeral, or any mention of what happened to their body.

Imagine for a moment that Glenn died and Abe died and in the next episode they show a grave and instead of your favorite character, it’s Spencer or Tara or Rosita with zero explanation on what happened to Glenn or Abe. Were they buried? Did they lose the bodies?? Does it matter?

The answer is yes. It does matter. Closure is important in the grieving process and every single death on the show has had some source of closure, be it a grave without the body, a marker, a remembrance, a name on a wall, something to remember them by.

Beth got nothing and in place of her funeral, we got someone else’s. So until that happens to your fave you can sit down and shut the hell up.

It’s been 733 days since Coda and we still don’t know where her body is. I’d like to see how you would feel if that happened to you.

Emily’s Upcoming Music Release Part 2

Yesterday I made a post about Emily’s music releases (x) but I still just can’t get over the fact that she can’t release her own music dates. Emily is an independent artist. That should give her complete control over things like dates and song title releases. Yet she stated in the interview that she couldn’t say when, only that it was sometime in October, further stating that we may be surprised by how she releases them.

@allatariel pointed out that Emily mentioned in her interview that Tess is not a singer and that had not come up in the script. So that effectively rules out Conviction.

What makes me interested is that I asked my daughter, who is really up on the music scene if she has ever heard of anyone not being allowed to release their music dates. I didn’t specify indie artist. That’s important. She stated that she had heard that there was a reddit leak of a song, “Heathens” by 21 Pilots that was in Suicide Squad. There was a potential for a lawsuit over that reddit leak. It didn’t come to fruition but the threat was real.

Ever since Beth “died” Emily has been seemingly coached in interviews like the one she did on Hello Giggles. And to be honest, there isn’t a whole lot of difference except that on that interview, she was live and it was interesting how she just kept on talking about the Walking Dead.

But I digress. Let’s go back over the facts. Emily is an indie artist, yet she can’t give dates or all the songs and states that we will be surprised by how she releases the songs. I am an indie author. I don’t answer to anyone but myself for the most part. Yes there are rules with the platforms, but as far as release dates and things of that nature, I have full autonomy over that stuff. But, say if Penguin books decided to contract with me. I would be bound by that contractual obligation and would have less autonomy and may not be able to say when a book is released or the title without the publisher’s say so.

This kind of relationship is what seems to be going on with Emily. Ever since she left TWD she has still been linked to it in every form of media.

Here’s the best part. Emily was also reticent to announce the release of her album last year “This is War”. Despite the fact that she was on another show at the time she chose to release her album right around the premiere of the Walking Dead. In addition, she showed up as the belle of the ball to the big fan premiere as part of a game (aka it was planned all along) and the name of her team was called “This is War”. The current arc in the comics is called “All Out War”. I don’t think this is in any way a coincidence.

Basically I said all of this to say that I think that this is further proof that Emily is still under contract with AMC and that is why she is under gag order, why she isn’t doing panels, why in her interviews it seems she is coached as to what she can and cannot say. The only time that seems to not be the case was when she did the Kate Nash interview after the premiere last year and well, we all know what happened there.

Stay tuned as this seems to be the beginning of a new media surge. She is likely going to saturate the media very soon. She has 4 photo shoots coming out this fall that we know of and I am sure there will be interviews centered around those magazine releases as well. Again, stay tuned! It’s a good time to be Team D.
