It’s good to be back
“I’m a blessing, Kirkland,” Eugene replied, raising his eyebrow. Feeling a small comfort in the teasing, but also a bitterness. ‘Kirkland’ felt sour on his tounge–as if it had suddenly become so very wrong to be so formal. So distant. At Maximus’ question, he shrugged. “I’m not sure. I need to find a new place to visit,” he said, mostly truthfully. He did need to find a new target, which involved finding a new location.
“Debatable, Rider.” Max responded, feeling equally bitter about the distance between them. He’d give anything to have the closeness they once had back. Honestly he hated talking about Eugene leaving again. But he already started the conversation, so with a fairly visible wince he continued it. “What are your options? Maybe I can help you narrow it down and have you on your way.”
