Not sure if you've answered an ask like this before, but do you have any particular "old school" MLP ships you still like? Like ships that used to be REALLY popular in the early 2010-2012 days of the fandom but phased out over time.
Stuff like Fluttershy x Big Mac, Rainbow Dash x Soarin, Twilight Sparkle x Flash Sentry, etc...
Oh yeah! I still have a soft spot for some og fandom ships like FlutterMac (one of my very first pony ships actually lol), Dislestia (still part of my current main-NG), aaand SoarinJack (which admittedly wasn't as popular as SoarinDash, but still had a decent-sized fanbase in terms of AJ ships iirc).
Coincidentally, was actually thinking of potentially making another side-NG based on nostalgic fandom ships (both some I had & others I recall trending for the time), buuuut we'll see lol🤔.
Do you see the Mane Six as being teenagers like in Equestria Girls or as young adults? I personally prefer seeing them as young adults instead of teen girls.
Though it's been awhile since I've fully-watched EQG, tbh I've always assumed the EQG Mane 6 were nearing senior year-age/already graduated by the end of the spinoff's run. So alot of my current EQG headcanons tend to place them more around college-aged, as well.

As far as the other two go? ...Ehhh, probably not tbh .w.;; Never was that particularly interested to Skyla ngl (though some fan-depictions I've seen of her in other NGs are pretty cool); and while I do think CheesePie is cute, I'm just not attached enough to wanna include Lil Cheese tbh, esp. since I already have SkyPie & their daughters in my personal Pinkie endgame lol 💕

-Pinkie Pie x Princess Skystar
The bubbly party planner and the giddy Hippogriff Princess; finally free to spread joy and explore outside of their respective “bubbles”. Just as Pinkie helped to show Skystar’s people back in their ocean dwelling, it really does take “one small thing” as their bond to spark their lives anew~ 💖
-Fluttershy x Rarity
The gentle animal-tender and the glamorous fashionista; a tale most unexpected yet cherished in their eyes. With the generous grace nudging Fluttershy out of her shell, and the kind smile of Fluttershy always there to Rarity of what’s “truly” important… together, they’ll grow to embrace the spotlight, close by eachother’s side~ 🩷🩵
-Applejack x Rainbow Dash
The hardworking farmer and the laidback speedster, a push-&-pull of competitive chemistry became AJ & RD’s fate. No matter the races, the wrestles, the smug smirks of victory, it’s all too clear to their friends & peers… Honesty & Loyalty are a package deal, through thick & thin~ 🧡🌈
Unfortunately no, sorry anon 😭 I swear its not out of dislike for Earth Ponies or however; it was just coincidentally the main fankids I thought of for the M6 pairs ultimately ended up with more wings/horns than expected (like SkyPie's daughter having wings since Skystar's a hippogriff + Pinkie was originally planned to be a pegasus in her concept art/I HC her being related to pegasi somewhere, soooo ye lol).
I will say if I were allowed to include non-M6 fankids into the main cast, then my DiamondSpike & Cheerimac kiddos would fill in for the Earth Pony-roles, if that makes sense .3.

A silly lil unicorn (born with some recessive Batpony genes via-her eyes/ears) with a special talent for cake decorating (think "Cupcake Wars"-level quality); nothing brighten Sweetheart's day more than making others feel special when they receive their carefully-crafted baked-goods (especially on milestones such as birthdays, weddings, etc.). From filly pink bowed tea cakes, to spookily dripping cake pops ripe for Nightmare Night… whichever the job entails, Sweetheart's here to deliver with the upmost creative spark~! 🍰💗✨

-Glitter Hollow, young adult unicorn daughter of Twilight Sparkle & Tempest Shadow. Born with the special talent of potion-brewing, Glitter's always had a curious spark to explore and experiment more with the world around her… to the extent of getting herself into more trouble than its worth at times ^^;. Even if this may make her a bit "ditzy" to some, Glitter's got her heart in the right place to spread her own brand of knowledge to help others (as her mama Twilight's done💜), no matter how unconventional the method may be. Has an older brother (Night Shade) alongside a lil sister (Ruby Star). Bears the Element of Loyalty.
-Suncrisp Blaze, young adult pegasus daughter of Applejack & Rainbow Dash. Born with the special talent of gardening and breeding new flowers, Suncrisp's known as one of the chillest lil ladies on the block of Sweet Apple Acres. A real "big sis"-figure to her friends, Suncrisp's always down to lend them a listening ear if any need to get their mind off things, even treating some to a spa-day session with her own love for pampering (contrasting well to her more down-to-earth/tomboyish mamas). Has 2 brothers (Jonagold & Blitz Zapp) and a sister (Pazazz). Bears the Element of Kindness.
-Red Velvet, young adult unicorn daughter of Rarity & Fluttershy. Born with the special talent of literary arts, Velvet's creative mind is as limitless as the world around her… if she ever learned to nudge out of the comfort of her cozy, candlelit bedroom. A dramatic one she can be once she gets hooked on particular story ideas, but also quite the compassionate one when thinking of potential social bonds (particularly of the romantic kind, as her friends can annoyingly attest to~). Has one older brother (Dandelion). Bears the Element of Honesty.
-Songbird Pearl, young adult hippogriff daughter of Pinkie Pie & Skystar. Born with the special talent of underwater singing, Pearl's grown to be… very much the opposite of her goofy, ever-energetic mothers. Fancying the more "well-to-do" life of royalty and graceful oceans, Pearl hopes to find her calling while exploring the boundless waves around her. Uptight & snarky as she can be while surrounded by so many "colorful" folks… when push comes to shove, Pearl can truly be a devoted friend no one would want to mess with. Is the oldest of several little sisters. Bears the Element of Generosity.
-Hope Flare, young adult pegasus daughter of Sunset Shimmer & Flash Sentry (EQG-verse). Born with the special talent of fire-based flight (or in the human world equivalent, skateboarding tricks), Hope's always had an eager view on seeing more of the magical, colorful pony world her mother's always told her about at bedtime. Having proven quite the "spunky" one (both by her old Canterlot High classmates and her new pony friends), Hope's got the spark in her feet to keep on going to see what adventure awaits her. Has one older brother (Sunspark) and one younger brother (Firebolt). Bears the Element of Laughter.
-Moonstone, young adult unicorn daughter of Starlight Glimmer & Blueblood. Born with the special talent of gemstone crafting, Moonstone's life has been… well, rather limited on account of her upbringing. A sheltered, often-sickly only child with both parents coddling her alot (whether it was Blueblood nudging Moonstone to be a "proper" noble like him, and/or Starlight trying (lovingly) to push her daughter as a magic prodigy), Moonstone's deepest wish has always been just to have her own chance for freedom, adventure and friendships of her own. Finally getting that chance out on her own has proven… a lil on the scary side, for such a timid little lady. But with the help of her newfound friends (and childhood bestie Luster Dawn), Moonstone's determination is bound to prove stronger than any diamond she's crafted with. Bears the Element of Magic.
Next batch of fanart spam tonight, here's a batch of my personal current HC ships within the Equestria Girls-world of the "Diamond Verse" (aka: my "Universe A"/main ng ship AU). Mainly being mix of EQG ships that are either longterm OTPs of mine, and/or just pairs I think could be narratively interesting/creative to work with (-which prob explains why a good chunk of these are crackships lmao).

From exes torn apart by greed & power, to slowly rekindling friendship thanks to Sunset's change of heart… never would either expect that things would fall back full-circle through them regaining feelings again~ ❤️🔥
Was it a perfect transition? Probably not. Would there still be days of Sunset doubting herself, even with Flash's doting patience with her? Absolutely. Yet even so, as every phoenix burns bright… Sunset's happy to finally put her past behind her, embracing these changes everyday with Flash proud to cheer her on~ 💙❤️
-Sci Twi x Aria Blaze-
No one in their school would've ever expected the Dazzlings of all people to redeem themselves among a normal school faculty… yet the M6 proved them wrong as one by one, these once-pesky sirens have worked to become better beyond their hypnotic singing prowess.
With these two in particular, the purple second-in-commands seemed to be an interesting match of opposites; the cool-tempered punk and the giddy nerd. Whilst Aria may deny feeling much for Sci Twi when they're out and about… there's no denying the warm glow on her face whenever Twi does something like banter on about science facts, take her exploring the town, or even just the lil things like gifting her a plush that "reminds her of Aria" (aka: a sea-star lol). Silly, insignificant things the old Aria would've declared back then… but now, when it all comes down to it, she'll be glad to throw the biggest siren hands to keep this adorable dork safe & sound~ 💜
-Fluttershy x Adagio Dazzle-
To tackle redeeming the main leader of the Dazzlings was a task no better to give than to Fluttershy, the soft-spoken Element of Kindness herself. Of course, her dear friends were worried of how she'd handle being around someone so "conniving" like Adagio… but well, if her pony counterpart could handle bringing a Draconequus down-to-earth, then why not her human self with a siren baddie?~ ;)
And so, that's what leads us to today… as now the once haughty Adagio has gained a new sense of pride lovingly doting to her butterfly-winged angel. From fancy dinner dates, dancing, and occasionally playing with some duet karaoke… there's no prying apart these star-crossed sweeties~ 💛💗
-Applejack x Sonata Dusk-
With Aria & Adagio out of commission in terms of villainy, all that's left was Sonata Dusk… while arguably not a huge threat with her impulsive "simpleton" ways, there's still big a risk to let her roam about freely. And so, among the M6 to take the job of calming down this sneaky siren was none other than Applejack. I mean, the gal's handled plenty of pests with her natural-born firmness, this shouldn't be a problem…
…well, which is what she would've said, if it weren't for the revelation just how much of an annoying, perpetually-clingy cat Sonata can be when it comes to "bonding". Hmpf, well whats an AJ to do, if this pretty lil pest's not gonna be leaving her side anytime soon, now…? What to do, what to do, indeed…~ ;P
-Pinkie Pie x Rainbow Dash-
…Weeeell, ngl I don't really have a big story for this one, I just wanted an excuse to have RainbowPie (one of my first ever M6 ships) in my main HC verse somewhere whilst still having AppleDash within the pony world variant… yee lol :p
Bubbly lil party girl with her headstrong tomboy gf, a true prankster power couple in Canterlot High one would say~ ;3 To say any of the M6 were surprised when they announced they were dating would… well, okay no one actually was, they could spot those two's chemistry from a loooong mile away~ lmao
-Rarity x Timber Spruce-
Now, this one's perhaps the one pair no one expected to form in this colorful group… as Rarity figured with all her other bffs gaining partners of their own, she'll just have to go find her future beloved herself. Cue her going down an embarrassing list of blind dates, matchmaking events, even simply batting her eyes at some potential suitors at her tailor job only yielded so many results…
And so, Rarity resigned herself to take a break from the madness by visiting the museum's cafe section now & then… which just so happened to be Timber Spruce's favorite spot to hangout, coincidentally-enough. Though not expecting much aside from a brief hello & goodbye… something about their meetup just sparked the two to talk more, grab some coffees and exchange numbers after catching up on their lives. Cocky as he may be on the surface, there was something about Timber that had an odd, wholesome charm to him with his enthusiasm about gems, plants & silly puns… and Rarity has thought about sprucing up her workshop some more…
(Did this bring up any awkward feelings, given Timber Spruce's status as Twilight's ex? Oh certainly, as Rarity would ofc fret about that very night… but well, as she'd come to realize (from even Twi telling her face-to-face), her & Timber had long since moved on after amicably splitting so long ago. So really, as far as Twi sees it… as long as Rarity's happy, thats all that matters~ 🤗💜 )
