After lurking as I've been in the background of this game's lore, characters & so forth from the fandom tags, I've finally taken the time to download & get hooked on this pretty cookie app too~ 🥰🍪✨

Sooo Timeline of Fate Episode 8 dropped earlier... how we feeling, folks?

Personal (spoiler-y) thoughts below:

...weeeeell, idk how unpopular or not this opinion may be (esp. given the fandom drama about audio leaks-), but like... to tell the truth?

I... really enjoyed this chapter, like alot tbh?? From the inner dive into White Lily's feelings throughout Tartrus, Nether Queen being a fun neutral-type force (sassy, kinda-pushy about "retiring"... but at the same time, genuinely comforting & wise when it mattered most), Asphodel being the sweetest lil bean (her backstory implications, ughhh💔), Dark Enchantress becoming a part of White Lily's soul, the SilentFaeLily crumbs (-you betcha my inner shipper was screaming when they popped up, hehe~🤭💕), the possibilities of the Beasts coming back in their old doughs, and of course Pure Vanilla's journey to find his best friend leading to a tough (but necessary) heart-to-heart? ...Omg, could Act 2 be turning around for good after all?? 🤩

Granted, was this a perfect chapter? Well, no; as I'll admit certain parts of the Nether trials did feel a lil rushed pacing-wise (...and I could've gone without Devsis again using Elder Faerie's death for the upteenth time in Lily's memories... like there wasn't a perfectly fine alternative in THIS moment to show off her bond with him??😑):

Do I still disagree with White Lily's death, for how it was handled at the end of Beast Yeast (after all her prior development/character setup)? Absolutely. Nothing will change that tbh, and I'll be continuing to disregard it in my personal canon/HC-side of things.

...But well, for the story Act 2 seems to be setting up, I... think I'm okay with the decision to have White Lily reincarnate, honestly. Sad as it is she won't be with Pure Vanilla (+the other Ancients) yet, at least it's not an actual permadeath in the grand scheme of things. Especially as we've seen time & time again, White Lily's inner-conflict has most often been tied to her autonomy being tested/taken away from her.

The Witches' Banquet, Dark Enchantress' creation (+the Freedom Soul Jam shattering), the events of the BY Silver Kingdom chapters, Silent Salt's judgement, and this whole "Mark of Oblivion" revelation from her childhood... that's alot for just one cookie to handle...

So... can we really blame Lily for not only wanting some peace from all that, but to also do so in a way that's the most natural way back to her friends (without pulling a Dark Enchantress 2.0-move w/ forbidden magic), in due time? 🤷‍♀️

Speaking of which; no I don't think Pure Vanilla was "wrong" for wanting to save his friend. As really, I'm sure anyone in his position would after all he (+Lily) has been through... buuuut on the other hand, Pure Vanilla IS known to be overly-optimistic for his own good at times (him hiding the truth about Dark Enchantress to Dark Cacao & Hollyberry in Cookie Odyssey, saying he "understands" Shadow Milk without actually doing so, him disregarding the moral implications/risks to abruptly-drawing Lily's soul out of Tartrus, etc.). To see not only White Lily, but also Pure Vanilla realize this & how these patterns (+their idealized POVs of one another) have been holding back their friendship... was definitely a convo both needed to have ASAP. All-in-all, a beautifully nuanced ending, imho🙏

since you mentioned you like purelily & shadowvanilla, what do you think of the potential for shadowlily (+pureshadowlily poly)?💙💚🩵

I technically answered this awhile ago; but I'll say Ch. 7 definitely got me intrigued more on the potential for White Lily & SMC interactions! Especially with White Lily being the one cookie who had the guts to uncover his secret research in the Academy, their individual traumas about the Witches, and how both got so ambitious in their goals it drove them to dangerous risks (+corruption on SMC's end). Both could make for a great academic duo if given the chance imo (+SMC redeems himself), especially if you have PV joining them to balance them both out (even if just in a silly friend trio sense lol)👍

And before anyone comes at me; no I don't consider ShadowLily 'weird' on the basis of her meeting the "First Headmaster" as a student; as Ch. 7 confirms that to just be a soul fragment SMC left behind for the Academy (like some type of magic hologram since dude was long trapped in the Silver Tree by then-), they never actually met directly until White Lily was a grown, immortal adult in the Faerie Kingdom. Sooo... yeah, idk why people decided to stir up drama in that regard tbh 🤷‍♀️lol.

have you played the latest crk story yet, outta curiosity? and whats your thoughts on the theory of white lily becoming reborn as the new nether queen (as the trailer & nether queen cookie implied)?

Indeed I did, yep!~ Spoilers below for those curious:

IMO, I'd say this (so far) is another well-written Act 2 chapter, almost on-par with the previous Ananas Dragon story! 👍Loved the inner-dive into White Lily's Academy days + how she opened the rift, SMC confirmed as the First Headmaster, PV's grief & realization he really hasn't understood either Lily or SMC, and I think Nether Queen herself is pretty cool (even if we only got a few minutes with her, at most 😅lol). Am I a bit disappointed we didn't actually get to go to Tartrus yet? Sure. But for what we got, I'd say it was still substantial imo (ughhh that scene of lil Lily being comforted by the Headmaster admitting fault for not properly-guiding her (...only for Lily to grow up blaming herself anyway 'cause of the "Mark of Oblivion" memory wipe), ouch T-T 💔)

As far as what I think about the whole "White Lily becoming the Nether Queen" thing I've seen going around? ...I mean, I'll admit that could be a cool idea to explore in an AU (esp. if they make it the theme for her COTY costume, like Mystic Flour’s “The Leavened One” form?👀); but as an actual, canonical endgame for main-timeline Lily?

...Iiiiii'm not really sure how to feel on that one, chief lol 🤷‍♀️Especially since White Lily's whole concept is meant to represent "Freedom"... would this truly be a fate fitting to her? After all she's gone through to protect her friends & Cookiekind... to spend the rest of her days ruling Tartrus, forever separated from her friends in the living world (4 of whom are immortal, mind you-), & most likely never making anymore meaningful connections from there (since souls down there slowly forget who they are)?🙁Like... at least with her Soul Jam (problematic as it is-), White Lily still formed some genuine bond with it as the other Ancients with theirs, and the Faerie Queen role (while still a tragic one) had its perks of a whole Silver Kingdom eager to support & stand by her (as Elder Faerie would've wanted🙏). But for her to become a duty-bound ruler of the entire Nether Realm, with nothing left but lost spirits keeping her company? Ehhhh...

Heck, we have Lily herself expressing she doesn't want to be the queen; neither as a child nor in her & Nether Queen's pre-battle quotes:

Also, one thing I noticed upon rewatching the story a couple more times; remember how in most trailers pre-updates, they'd usually have parts of the trailer dialogue become part of the in-game cutscenes too (ex. White Lily's "the answer I seek is right here" from the SSC update)? Well, there's this one line I recall from the last trailer where Nether Queen says this:

...Yet, in the actual cutscene lil Lily meets Nether Queen, she never actually says this line to her, as far as I recall in their dialogue together? 🤔Interesting... if they're saving it perhaps for the next chapter instead, then I wonder what that'll be implying for Lily's fate?

Only took aboooout 14-ish or so pulls for my end? Idk I've been hoarding about 95,000+ rainbow cubes these past few months (got smart enough in-time to not immediately waste them all on the B!tes costumes, upon realizing I could just buy them in the star shop lol), so it definitely helped speed things along lol

thoughts on ash salt cookie, now that we've seen her more in act 2's story?

Ooh, I think Ash Salt's cool! ^^ Loved her design since her teaser reveal in the Chronos livestream, and she's got great setup potential as that "edgy/secretly-disloyal follower"-archetype 🖤

...Though, the only thing that stumps me about Ash Salt's character is... well, her "origins"? 😅Now, don't get me wrong; the concept of her being the last living remnant of the Kala Namak Army (but currently tied to SMC's schemes) sounds cool, in-theory... but like; how exactly did those two knights survive long enough to make Ash Salt, if the whole point of Silent Salt's "corruption" was that he saw ALL his knights killed off (prior to him snapping into mass-murder mode + sealing the Beasts w/ Elder Faerie)?🤨

Idk, I guess you could argue 'cause of SMC messing with time, that maaaybe it caused a ripple effect of these Kala Namak knights (somehow) living through the massacre after all? Though... that kinda begs to question how Silent Salt (Mr. "Embrace/Protect the Downtrodden") of all cookies never noticed his two loyal knights injured in the field, prior to him leaving to the Silver Tree (+becoming a corrupted bug thing afterwards), soooo... 🤷‍♀️lol

Thoughts on the Timeline of Fate “Dragontongue Song” Story (aka: Ep. 5-6):

(I maaay be a bit late- BUT still putting spoilers below anyway, for those who haven’t played the full-story yet):

-First off, lemme start off by saying that this... is probably the best chapter(s) we’ve gotten so far of Act 2 (ironic that it’s also the one least focused on SMilk atm lmao). Compared to the previous SCOOP (+prior) updates that felt a tad too jumbled with all the POV jumps to multiple groups; to have this one JUST focused on Hollyberry's group in Ananas' domain was a nice change of pace imo.

-Enjoyed seeing Hollyberry get the main lead spotlight again; from her returning to her Dragon City garb to her friendship with Pitaya Dragon being put front & center💗 (even if she sadly wasn't able to bring them back to normal just yet, you gotta commend her for her determination & hope for a future happy reunion, nonetheless!🥺🤞)

-Usually I don’t tend to focus much on the “backgrounder” village cookies, but aaa the Mango Tribe were super wholesome with all their focus on community/togetherness (+their trust in Ananas Dragon as their "guardian"). This lil mango child & their grandma were such a sweet duo🥹🙏

-Yaay for Mango Cookie having some bigger spotlight for himself too, I always thought he was a cool dude~☺️. Even though we didn’t see it too prominently, was nice to see his genuine trust in Ananas was kept in-tact throughout the story ^^

-Speaking of which… MAN did I come out of this one a surprise-Ananas fan🤩✨(prob even my new fave Dragon-rarity cookie while we’re at it; sorry Pitaya I still love you tho lol TwT)! Everything from their design, voice, their “haughty-yet-protective-deep down” nature towards the Mango tribe, their banter with Holly & the other heroes, it was really engaging to watch!~👏👏 Makes me excited to see how the other dragon cookies will be like, whenever they pop up in the story! :>

-Omggg, that Dragontongue song was simply beautiful to listen to… especially towards the end with the Mango tribe (+Ananas) coming together to harmonize as one~🥹💛. Really brought me back to that Kilika sending scene from FFX (one of my all-time fave games), aaaaa~😭✨💞

-Now, with all that being said; what did I think of Night Raven (aka: corrupted Wind Archer)? …Well, I do like his design & voice, and the power of his life-draining bird swarms was cool to see. But otherwise, he just... felt kinda "there" tbh? 😅Like, outside of the fight scenes, it felt like Night Raven hardly had any meaningful focus compared to Holly's gang & Ananas (...which, would be fine if the 1st chapter's name wasn't "The Dark Winged Guardian" lmao). Idk, I guess there could be a chance for better spotlight later since Night Raven got locked in a rock prison at the end instead of outright-killed, soooo we'll see? 🤷‍♀️

-Speaking of which; I'm kiiiiinda not sure how to feel about the Elementals apparently all being out-of-commission rn? 🤨Like, Sugar Swan I can understand since she used up so much energy to revive an army in BY Ch. 15... but the others? Ehhhh... could've at least given us an extra cutscene or so to show that better imo (rather than just Holly herself explaining everything).

-...Interesting of Ananas to talk about the cookie underworld/"Nether Realm" towards the end (+that brief shot shown of White Lily talking with the Academy Headmaster)... very, very interesting indeed.... 🤔

As a White Lily fan, what's your thoughts on PureLily? <3

Aww, I enjoy PureLily! :3 I personally tend to view them more as a bestie duo myself (w/ a possible puppy crush phase in their youth hehe~), but I'm not opposed to the cute ship art & just seeing their overall bond throughout the game's story🙏💚

From their innocent Academy days, to their Ancient hero travels & PV refusing to give up finding White Lily (even if he struggled to fully-understand her, for awhile 💔) in Beast-Yeast; they're ultimately a wholesome pair no matter which way you see them!😊
