[Same, but new, character. Cal, or Callum, is a werewolf, not a demon]
Callum walked down the foggy street, scratching at his jagged scar on his stomach under his loose fitting shirt. It was night, and Cal glanced uneasily up at the almost-full moon. One more night and he would turn into a monster. Why him?
He thought back to that night. Camping with his friends had been fun, the beer and music they brought were even more fun. It had been five of them including Cal. Three girls, two guys. They were all dead now. Cal and his friend Liam had thought going out camping during the full moon would be the best time- more lighting, right?
The large wolf that charged at them was unexpected. Cal was lucky to only have had two beers when the rest has already had five. Cal was barely able to escape, though never understood how. His stomach bled so much he thought he would die multiple times.
He didn’t remember much after that. Someone had found him, and brought him to the hospital. He was stitched up and lay there for weeks. Finally he was released after a month, and still grieving his friends he had escaped for a night to be by himself. He could still remember the pain of the first transformation. But that was all. No memories. He couldn’t control himself when the wolf took over.
Cal pushed open the door to the cafe, wandering in toward an empty booth and sliding into the seat. This was his favourite spot now, away from the judging eyes of his family or friends. He just wanted to escape them all.

Cal laughed painfully. Interesting? He could think of many different adjectives, interesting not being one. He nodded slowly, moving his eyes to study her. “Sure. Why not?” You know why not, he told himself. But again, firmly rooted to his seat, he waited patiently for her number. The waitress walked over, placing the black coffee onto a coaster before walking away, eyeing the two.
“What is your name?”
She quickly wrote her number on a napkin and unlocked her own phone so he could put in his number “Luna” Her voice was soft, and friendly just as her smile. Lifting her head, she looked up at him. For a moment her gaze caught the waitress staring and quickly looked down at her lap
Cal waited until her hands pulled away completely before reaching his hand out, inputting his phone number and the name ‘Callum’ before moving and sliding the napkin toward himself. “It’s nice to meet you, Luna.” He said quietly, eyeing her. There was something different about her, something off, that drew him in.
Luna looked at her phone and smiled, though in a daze before looking back u at him. “I’m glad you didn’t push me away and think I’m weird for randomly coming over here” She said and sighed a bit, putting the phone away again. For a moment she got silent, not knowing what to say and tried not to stare at him by looking around at the cafe she knew so well

Luna sat in her usually booth, enjoying the soft music that played in the background and nose in a book that she had found interesting. Again she saw the same guy wander in and sit in the same place as always, no one else ever was there. This she found interesting and wondered if he wouldn’t mind some company. After finally seeing the stranger walk in she waited a moment before getting up and sitting in front of him. “Hi” Luna said in a soft spoken voice and gave a sweet smile. “Are you waiting for someone?” She asked, though already having an idea of the answer
Cal glanced up, startled. He took in the appearance of the person in front of him, so it took him a bit before he started and answered a bit late. “Oh, uh, no.” He responded, tilting his head and eyeing her up and down. He slid him hand out from under his shirt, where it had just been resting on his stomach, and intertwined his fingers together, clasping his hands together as if he were afraid of doing something.
He was startled again when the waitress came up. “Hey Cal, the usual?” He stared blankly at this girl before registering what she said, and nodded quickly, glancing out the window again. He heard the waitress laugh at the way he was acting. He couldn’t help it, he always seemed to be a little dazed the day before and day after the full moon.
She watched him and looked a bit worried. “Are you ok? I know that look” Her hand reached over and lightly touched his, her warm hand hot compared to his. Luna quickly took her hand back and looked at ‘Cal’ with wide eyes “You’re…you’re ice cold, I think you’re sick” Something about her seemed deathly afraid for the stranger she just met. “You need to be laying down!”
Cal quickly withdrew his hand, shaking his head quickly and closing his eyes, taking a deep breath and trying to calm his panic. “No, no I’m fine. I’m always pretty cold. Also, I’m not wearing much and it’s winter outside.” He nodded toward the window, fog and snow laying across the empty street. His hand motioned over his body, showing he only had a tight black t-shirt and black jeans on, then shrugged. “I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me.”
He bit his lip, glancing back out the window. If she got too worried he’d have to leave. Why wasn’t he already? The thought plagued him, but he stayed rooted in his spot, keeping his hands under the table this time.
Luna watched him, holding back more nagging about staying warm or else he would get sick “Fine…then” She paused again “Can you tell me why you always come here, its like a pattern” Luna always liked to watch things and find patterns or ways that things fit. After she realized that she sounded like a stalker, she turned away, a bit pink in the face “I mean I always see you here around this time and…” All she let out was a sigh, knowing that if he didn’t stop her, she was going to ramble
At first, Cal made no move to stop her. His dazed mind tried to keep up. Someone has been watching him? If she knew of how often he came here, did she know his secret? Did she overhear the one time his ex girlfriend followed him here to yell at him?
Cal groaned, standing in the middle of the cafe with his head in his hands. He knew every customer, the few that were there, were all staring. “Cal! Look at me while I am talking to you!”
“Jasmine, please, stop!” Cal turned around and eyed the furious caramel skinned woman. He put his hands behind his back and clasped them together tightly.
“No!” She yelled first, then continued her rant. “You don’t care about me, you don’t love me anymore! Why don’t you tell me where you went that night? I checked with your parents, you weren’t at their house!” Cal flinched, taking a step back. “You’ve been different since the accident, Cal! Everyone thinks so! It wasn’t just you who lost people! My sister was there Cal!” I was the only one to turn into a monster, Cal thought to himself, but kept quiet. “What? You have nothing to say? Then how about this. We’re through, Cal.” He watched as she stomped away, out of the cafe.
Cal shook his head, coming back to reality and blinking. “What?” He asked at first, before remembering the question. “Oh, I like their coffee.” He motions his hand toward the kitchen, but moved his eyes back out the window, glancing up toward the moon.
She didn’t pry any further, not wanting to seem annoying “Do…you want my phone number?” Luna asked as she dug threw a small backpack she carried, looking for her phone. When she finally pulled out it, she set it on the table and smiled “I wouldn’t mind getting to know you more…you’re…” Luna stopped to think of a word “Interesting”
