Regit, Drapoel. Tiger, Leopard.
While imagining their lore, i've come to the realization that i actually made a mistake. Ananta's last name is Drapoel, but he's Jio's "brother" especially if he's adopted, so he should have Jio's last name of Regit.
i thought about it for a second and few, and decided it could be an 'heir' thing. In Jio's "family", only 1 white tiger beastman is born every generation and they will be trained to become the next head of the family. Their white colors are caused by the immense abundance of their magic type, which causes the discoloration, so white is seen as powerful in their family.
Now, Ananta is a snow leopard beastman, by no means a tiger one. This 'white' color of his should not be measured in the family standards, but he is still favored by Jio who despite having no visible discoloration on him is the most powerful in the family, both status and sheer power wise.
To avoid making it seem like Ananta is an actual candidate for the head position, Jio granted him the middle name of "Drapoel".
That's right, Ananta's full name is now Ananta Drapoel Regit. Am i lazy as hell? Yes. Am i gonna change his tag? No.
In hindsight Jio did come to the realization that it isolated Ananta, but fortunately the other cubs still played with Ananta after realizing he wasn't a tiger beastman, and therefore wasn't a white tiger.
Ananta had it rough afterwards when said cubs had realized he was a member of THEIR family though. Because of the fact he's adopted, and also wasn't a tiger like them, some of the kids had shunned and bullied him relentlessly for being a 'freak' who 'invaded' their den and 'hypnotized' their big brother. He was often told to 'go back' to where he 'belonged' and that he wasn't welcome in the family. Others had avoided him for various reasons, and he was then isolated.
Jio did plan to do something about it, but all too suddenly while accompanying Ananta, they met Arkav. Arkav is the white tiger of the current generation, so he will be the future head. However, Ananta didn't know that. All he saw was a boy with the same features as him. A boy who, too, was alone and isolated (for far different reasons but that then Ananta didn't know yet.)
Ananta was a shy boy, that much Arkav noted, and had white hair like him. The boy hid behind his brother, who held an eager toothy grin at him. The smile eased Arkav, but not by much. Jio, sensing the other child's unease, held up Ananta's tail into view. Too large, too spotty. Leopard, a snow leopard beastman, not another white tiger.
Arkav warmed up to Ananta soon after, and Ananta accepted the affection eagerly considering Arkav was the only one who looked similar to him.
yeah this was an excuse to introduce another oc. Also if you didn't already realize, Regit is tiger backwards, drapoel is leopard backwards. When in struggle of finding a name, simply spell a word backwards.
