There's a small girl walking around the streets of Gotham. Her face is bruised; her hair is brown and short. She's been walking for a while now and she's very tired. Clara doesn't like Gotham that much, it's different from Coast City and she misses home. She misses her mother too, despite it all.

Clara is hungry and exhausted, her father wouldn't let her into the house last night, so she's been wandering for a while. It's raining out and she can feel the water soaking into her jacket and shirt. She's cold now.

It all comes to a head though when she trips over a curb and falls down onto the sidewalk right near an alley. She hisses, looking down at her knees, they always tend to be bruised, but now her right knee is skinned and bleeding and she thinks she has glass imbedded in her left knee. She hates how dirty Gotham is, and she can't help the tears that spring to her eyes, but she tries to push it down and away.

Peri’s patrol is just wrapping up, their bed already calling their name. They hear the soft hiss of pain from below and descend to check it out, heavy paws touching down in the water. Carefully, so as not to scare the kid with their size, they tuck their wings in and lean down while approaching.
