**A Home by the Water**

This house, built in 1949, was more than just a home—it was a place where memories were made, where time felt slower, and where the simple joys of life unfolded.

For my aunt and uncle, and for all of us who spent time there, it was a retreat—a place where laughter echoed through the rooms and the quiet rhythm of nature surrounded us. The white door welcomed us in, but the heart of this home stretched beyond its walls, down to the lake where we spent endless hours fishing.

The water was always there, reflecting the changing seasons, carrying our conversations across its ripples, and offering a peaceful escape. We stood along its banks with fishing rods in hand, waiting for a catch but more often just soaking in the stillness. The lake, like the house, was part of our story.

Though the home no longer belongs to our family, its legacy remains in the memories we carry. The stone chimney, the towering trees, the lake that never stopped stretching toward the horizon—they are still there, standing witness to the past.

Some places hold onto you long after you’ve left, and this one will always be a part of me.
