Hello, my name is Emily, and I’m having trouble living right now.

I live in Connecticut where the rent is atrociously high. I’m trying to move to Indiana so that I can lower my rent. Also, there’s jobs there (covid notwithstanding) that aren’t here, so if I can get a job there and start saving money, I might be able to finish my degree and get a REALLY good job. Then, I could be the one helping people who ask for it! But until then, I need to be the one asking for help.

I’m told the rent for the unit I’m looking at is $525 a month, and there’s a $250 deposit as well. So, first, last, and deposit would be $1300. I applied over the weekend, and it’s Monday now, so I should be hearing back from them soon.

I have a GoFundMe that I just set up, as well as a PayPal and Venmo. If you can help, even a little, I would be very grateful. And if you can share this, not just on Tumblr but Facebook and Twitter and whatever else you’ve got as well, that really helps, too.

Update July 24

Surprise! I got a bill from LAST YEAR when I went to pay this year’s bill, and there’s interest and fees on it and it all adds up to $427.36. Are you surprised? I was surprised. And angry, because they really should have sent me something in the mail last year, but they didn’t. Anyways, I won’t be able to renew my car’s registration (which expires August 27) until this is paid, which means I’ll have zero mode of transportation when I arrive in a strange new environment and need to quickly find work. So, I need help. Again. I’m as exhausted about this as I’m sure all of you are by now to hear it, but this totally came out of the blue and I don’t know what to do.

Any help at all would be tremendously appreciated.
