i’m not part of the yumeshipping community (yet) but i keep seeing nonsharing yumeshippers that have like 50 different f/os. maybe this is a controversial opinion but can we stop hoarding???????? you guys don’t want to share but you’re hogging up the whole population, leave some for the rest of us

i completely understand where you're coming from, and I'm not reblogging to yell at you or anything, I promise!! I just wanna help you have a better grasp on this :3
a yume can be non-sharing for a LOT of different reasons! me personally, I get sad or upset when I see other ships with my f/os. however, I'm never rude or mean, and in fact, I support them! they're canon to me with another version of my f/o thats not mine! I simply block and move on, while wishing them the best in my own mind
other reasons could be for comfort levels, or perhaps that yume views their f/o as their irl partner and doesn't like interacting with doubles. the reason a person yumeships could also play a hand in it! some yumes selfship because it improves or benefits their mental health. a lot of the time it can be used as motivation to get up and do stuff, and seeing doubles just kinda makes that feeling go away
most non-sharers block and move on without saying a word, or simply politely ask doubles to not interact. I promise we're not trying to hoard anything, nor are we saying you cant ship with a certain character! we're not saying we're the biggest fan, either. a lot of the times it really is just for a persons comfort!
of course this doesn't cover all the reasons, and I very well could have gotten some information a tad wrong, but I hope this helps just at least a bit! if you have any questions, I can try to answer them with the best of my ability. have a good day/night!!! ^^
