A huff of air absconded from nostrils, billowing like smoke from dragon’s fire throughout the freezing atmosphere. While the concern WAS appreciated underneath stoic exterior, Sardonyx felt like sharing her ordeals to someone she had no clue about could be FAR too great a risk. Despite the fact that powers detected sincerity inside this rabbit’s words, she could possibly be associated with an individual who worked for Alpha Industries and naively bring her up in a passing conversation.
Her life was a series of unpleasant events.
The long-eared mobian’s inquiry and dubious statement earned her a disgruntled expression, as Sardonyx could not believe she hadn’t picked up subtle hints yet. Ignoring those observations that she seemed to be having an inner turmoil within herself, the sentient clone spoke in curt tones.
“Hate to break it to you, but sometimes people prefer or even need to be alone rather than suffer through others chatter.” Blunt were her words yes, but at least she didn’t bother mincing them like others would have. Rolling shoulders, the sentient clone put hands in trench-coat’s pockets and began making her leave.
The bunny’s ears twitched, the other’s voice bringing her back to some sense of reality, and she blinked not once, but thrice at the mobian. “Huh...? Oh! Right! I was saying you looked lonely.” Had she even heard a single thing? Well! She supposed it wasn’t important... Not until she noted her conversation end abruptly, as the taller one began walking away.
“W-wait!” Maria tried to hurry after her. “Um! You don’t have to tell me how you’re feeling if you don’t wanna...You don’t gotta talk at all! Um, I won’t talk either! B-but...Can I at least know something to call you by? It doesn’t gotta be your real name...”
She frowned. She would happily leave the mobian alone if pushed - but she at least wanted to know the girl’s name...Something so Maria could connect her appearance to a phrase in case they ever met again...Or something...The girl was a little sentimental in that regard, as annoying as it was to most anyone who interacted with her.
“Oh! Um! I’m Maria!” She figured it’d be a little more polite to introduce herself before asking for anyone else’s title.
