“A million years is a very short amount of time in reference to the cosmos.” Sterling gave a small shrug. “Perhaps the interest of being the first to contact another civilization outside of their own planet. Perhaps they don’t have chocolate on their planet or no longer have it. Perhaps the different species–human or animals–are foreign and interesting to them. I imagine the ones on a space ship to another planet would either be scientists, and, therefore, interested in another planet. Or it’s the entire population and they’re fleeing a destroyed planet or corrupt society. Though I will say, if it’s the later, they might not want to come to this mess of a place if they have the choice.”
“You must really love researching space.” She let out a small chuckle. “I could see the more scholarly aliens wanting to study our planet. I mean the divide between muffle and magical in itself is pretty intriguing. As far as coming here for refuge, there are probably nicer planets. Hey maybe they’ve already terraformed mars and we just don’t know it yet.”
