I watched Supergirl today, and it was a beautiful space opera born of the good unbreakable no matter the color of the sun.

In a world where anyone, hero or villain, possesses irresistible power and speed, the only thing that sets them apart must be that small, extra warmth. The kind of warmth that makes you step in and fight for a neighbor despite any initial hesitation or reluctance to get involved.

Below is a longer version of my personal review. I think it doesn't contain any spoilers, but I hide the rest just in case. There are mentions about DCU/DCEU and ratio of action scenes in entire running time.

Actually, the movie was exactly what I'd anticipated after watching the trailers. Many live-action series have dealt with how strong a Kryptonian under a yellow sun can be, and even the 2025 Superman demonstrated this in an awesome way.

Which means, now is time for DCU to think about what different stories they should introduce to audiences.

If Supergirl weren't the second entry in DCU, the newly rebranded cinematic universe after DCEU, it might have been a superhero movie with much more action sequences and crossovers between major characters. It's too soon, however, to make a massive team-up movie which should come after other characters are fully introduced through solo movies, dramas, and animations.

What makes DCU's Supergirl different from Superman? And why is that? How did their planet collapse? I think this might be Lex Luthor's biggest question: why Earth? Why do they become heroes helping humans?

Instead of mainly concentrating on showcasing Kara's Kryptonian super-strengths, Supergirl tries to answer the fundamental questions that need to be addressed at least once to make the Super Family story arc plausible in the new DCU. (It doesn't mean the movie neglects to illustrate her powers. The action scenes were great.)

James Gunn said "each project would be full expressions of their writers & directors," and "the film or show will play in whatever genre suits the story best." He was talking about Clayface, but I believe Supergirl is a work that somewhat follows this principle: it refuses to be confined by the common superhero-action-genre plot.

In short, I love this movie and will definitely be rewatching it❤️‍🔥

I don't do Brulex as much as Clex, but this plot is really good😋

I think Clark might be quite flustered, especially if he hasn't told Lex about his secret identity yet. Of course, Clark knew about Lex's wild dating history long before they got together and he became friends with Bruce, but knowing his current date and his friend were once a thing in the past is a whole different story. However, since the affair ended years ago and he knows Lex loves him now, Clark doesn't bring it up to respect Lex's privacy. (Though he still becomes distracted sometimes!)

And if Clark and Lex are like an old married couple (except they're not married yet), Clark might casually ask if a man with dark hair and blue eyes has always been Lex's type. Just to tease Lex, Clark would pretend to be hurt, no matter how Lex tries to explain his past with Bruce. Clark pouting, claiming he thought Lex loved him for what's on the inside, not just his looks, will be so adorable😌

superman loves lex so much he keeps being baited by lex's dangerous flirts.

I love the idea that Earth alphas and omegas can't sense a Kryptonian's scent at all.

Lex, an omega who has always despised his innate presentation, can finally just be himself when he's sleeping with Superman because he doesn't feel anything--exactly like a beta. He can't feel this Kryptonian alpha's aroused pheromones, can't be swayed by an alpha. Before long, Lex gets completely addicted to having sex with his archenemy as it's the only time he's free from the shackles of his own biology.

As for Superman, however, it is absolute agony. Since Lex doesn't give a damn about controlling his scent, Clark alone is left drowning in the thick air of his omega's arousal. Every time he realizes Lex needs him not for emotional attachment, but just for the validation of control. Hoping today is the day a miracle happens, Clark releases his own scent more desperately while thrusting even harder into his omega.

(+ And if this is a universe where Superman turns evil like Lord Superman, I want to see Clark forcibly altering Lex's physiology, punishing him for his past deliberate indifference😏)

Whatever some people say, the thought that Clark and Lex are kissing in their private room on Earth-32 never fails to make me happy.

I love the idea of Lex discovering Red Kryptonite for the first time in his life. His brilliant brain immediately forms this flawless logic:

Kryptonite can kill Superman.

Red sun neutralizes Superman.

Thus, Red Kryptonite must be a really, really effective weapon to kill Superman.

So the next time they confront each other, Lex dramatically opens the lead box containing the Red-K, eager to see the alien kneeling before him in pain. Instead, what Lex gets is really, really hard (and horribly good) 🔞❤️‍🔥.

What petnames do you think clex would use for e/o and for Conner?

I like to think Clark has no problem using 'darling' or 'babe,' while Lex might stick to just 'Kal,' and maybe 'Clark' when he's feeling generous. Lex thinks he's already made a huge compromise by not calling Superman an alien, Martian, or supershit. And by not summoning him with a high-pitched frequency that only Kryptonian can hear, like depicted in comics. (+ And of course, he's still a bit shy about expressing his affection.)

But after Conner's born, I think Lex would make a conscious effort to be more visibly affectionate with Clark because he doesn't want his kid constantly trying to read his parents' moods. The concept of Lex trying out 'baby' for Clark is something I want to see.

And as for Conner... this is where being a non-native English speaker gets tough😂 Honestly, not many fitting petnames Lex might pick for his baby don't come into my head, uh... Maybe I should give back my English Language & Literature degree...🥲 Nevertheless, I love the idea of them usually calling him 'Conner,' and switching to 'Kon' when they want to be extra affectionate.
