[PANN - Talker’s Choice!] A start-up welfare program that was created because of an IDOL ft. CHEN
(trans - original post here) It’s a start-up (business) welfare program in Siheung - they said that the program was triggered by EXO’s CHEN’s donation.
Siheung is CHEN’s hometown
This Christmas he donated to help his less fortunate neighbours through his Church
Before that, he donated to Siheung Welfare Foundation
Another donation he made was written about in an International (Singaporean) newspaper
CHEN’s mother also donated about $20,000.00 to the Siheung Welfare Foundation which was revealed by a social worker.
Besides that too, CHEN personally volunteered to participate in Steve Barakatt’s Concert to support UNICEF by way of talent donation and performed ‘Imagine’. After this Steve Barakatt uploaded words of praise about CHEN
Even when his schedule was packed with his Musical, Group Tour and Fanmeeting, CHEN personally volunteered to perform in Seoul Police Music Harmony Event as talent donation.
That day the MC revealed that come rain or snow, CHEN has been participating in their charity events without fail for more than 3 years of his own accord and introduced him as a nice & good-hearted younger brother and a person who has many traits to learn from.
He took the initiative to contact Girls Generation SooYoung along with SUHO to donate his personal items to SooYoung’s Charity Bazaar

(summarized) For his birthday, CHEN posted on the EXO homepage thanking fans for his birthday gifts over the years and politely refused to accept support gifts any further because he feels bad about not being able to acknowledge them all. He said he would receive the fans’ well-wishes and love instead. CHEN fans therefore donated the money they had collected for his support gifts to various causes. They told him about these and he was very happy and proud.
During an early morning MV filming, CHEN approached a grandma who was passing by to apologise for the disturbance. The grandma swore at him but he politely smiled to her and then brightly boasted that he got cursed at by the grandma, making the staff burst out in laughter.
Besides that too, he has worn clothing to support Comfort Women when he was going to Japan and anti-racism shirts/hats.
