Quick doodle to start the night's art session. I guess this is a crossover episode, because it's the Patchwork Au x Ctrl+C Comic unfortunate self perpetuating double optimist, Ragabelle (designed by @qravenholme) I thought their design and eternally hyping eachother up (and trying/failing to hype everyone else up) through that goddamn nightmare setting was very cursed and fun, and I had to do my take on her

(based on their Au where Caine starts splicing together abstracted and non abstracted humans into fucked up little guys. Thankfully for RaggadyAnn nation, this is very not canon)

TADC Patchwork AU - Patched Circus Members

I really went all out on this piece and gave it everything I had and more - my neck is in so much pain, but it was so worth it.

Meet the Patched Circus Members of the Patchwork AU. From left to right we have Pombit, Ragajax, Zoogle, and Qinger.

I still have to do Caine, need to really spend a moment and brainstorm their design. It won't be as dramatic as the Patched Circus Members, but I still want to make sure it looks as good.

Also, when I finally get around to doing some short comics in this AU, I don't think it will be in this art style because jeez that would take way too long. That said, I will also do the occassional piece like this when I am able to because whoo was this a learning experience and did it teach me that I need to pace myself better when working on them.

PATCHWORK AU

Guys it's so cool, they all look so awesome and traumatized

Google being Gangle wrapping around Zooble like bandages is so cute and sweet and sad and terrifying

Qinger looks very similar to Kinger and Queenie while still being just off enough with the eyes and hands

I see RagaJax and all I can think is "poor Ragatha", who'd wanna be stuck with JAX. There were so SO many people, and she got stuck with JAX

also parts of the bow are purple... Is RagaJax's bow half skin? Can... Can they feel there?

Pombit with the different sizes limbs is so cool, I imagine it'd be hard to walk and move around like that

Anyway, PW!Caine, my guy, get therapy for your abandonment issues please this is not helping anyone

"Ragabelle" - TADC Patchwork Ctrl-C Crossover Piece

So @thwarp mentioned in a comment on their own post how a Patched / fused of Ragatha and Annabelle, their Ctrl-C AU character, would be sort of weird because they both have the same model just with a switched color palette and very similar personalities to the point would there even be that much of a difference to them if they were merged together. The idea prompted a fun a little convo on how it could be turned into something more horrifying, both in their design and personality. Given they are both wells of positivity, sometimes to a fault, the idea of them being this overwhelming positive force in a super severely negative situation to the point of ignorance made for a fun character concept I just had to draw a sketch of them.

So, with that, introducing Ragabelle, the Patchwork of Ragatha and Annabelle.

Doing this sketch also made me realize "Oh wait, what happens to the floating 2 above Annabelle in this Patched form?" so tried a number of different things, but I really like a glitched out version of it as if it's trying to alter itself into something else, but can't because contradictions. Adding in fake rosy cheeks that are sewn on like other parts I also felt was a nice additional touch to really lay on the overwhelming positivity. Oh, add making the hair bow bigger because I'm digging the idea that when models are fused, some data gets combined as well so the scale of the bow got increased on her. This isn't canon to my Patchwork AU, just a fun little crossover thing between two different AUs that I just had to do because the idea was hard not to ignore. TADC Patchwork AU - Circus Cast WIP

A little update on the group piece I'm doing of the Circus Cast. It's been fun modifying or altering the details of each character to give them that more horrifying look I want for them. Zoogle's ribbon being torn up and the mask a bit more broken in places. Redoing quite a bit of Qinger's design and adding the abstraction marks like Pombit has, the mane being less "hair" looking and more "fur" looking. Adding more stitching to Ragajax in various places, giving the impression they've been truly torn apart and put back together, the one good eye having that abstracting effect we saw Jax have in Episode 7. Took a break before getting to Pombit has my neck started to hurt which tends to happen after I've been working for an hour or so, will defo improve the hand on the ground, they were already the one that looked the most freaky so I don't think I'm gonna change their overall design too much, but still, gonna see what I can do and see whether or not it works. It feels like as I improve the designs of these characters, they further inform the state of the Circus itself, that it's gotten a huge redesign and things have ended up looking a lot freakier because Caine has lost it.

"Qinger" - TADC Patchwork AU

Went ahead and rendered that Qinger piece and decided I'd also do a small profile on them.

A patched version of Kinger and Queenie after the latter had already abstracted, the result is Qinger, one of the more stable "Patched" characters as Caine begins to call them within the circus and one that they use as an example that his method works, albeit with some minor imperfections that he believes can be resolved later.

Due to Kinger suffering from mental health related issues and Queenie having spent decades abstracted, while they may have moments of lucidity here and there, the forced combining of their beings has affected them more mentally than other Patched characters.

However, unlike other Patched whose personalities mix and become one with conflicting thoughts, Qinger's personality may shift one way or another depending on their environment. While in a brightly lit environment, the Queenie side is more lucid and in control, while in a moderately dark environment, the Kinger side is more lucid and in control.

Also unlike other Patched, Qinger is a lot calmer with themselves and doesn't suffer from being two people forced into one being as much as the others do.

Pronouns: He/She/They - can depend on which personality is more in control.

"Ragajax" - TADC Patchwork AU

Been procrastinating a bit the last couple of days, but decided to push myself to do some drawing and ended up sketching one of the final Patched characters of my Patchwork AU.

Behold, "Ragajax", a patched version of Ragatha and Jax. Probably among the first to be patched in this way as I'm thinking Caine would do this sometime around Episode 8 when he loses himself and goes full AM - been thinking the line "They won't abstract, I won't let them" but he continues on that thought process and stuff like "I'll fix the others, I'll prevent them from leaving me again!" and such.

One of the earliest design details was using Ragatha's bow as the bow that Jax wears briefly in Episode 9. I also think I might add the other ear, but it have been among the hair, but either design is fine I think.

Personality wise, this Patchwork I imagine would be quite unstable, constantly trying to keep themselves from abstracting ( Ragatha side ) but also wanting to abstract ( Jax ), a whole lot of contradictory thoughts and feelings that just makes them worse and difficult to deal with.
