I want to do a more thorough post about it later. But here are some unorganized fallout tv thoughts:

Elephant in the room, wtf happened to Vegas! What happened to the NCR! guess we'll find out. It's sad though! Real sad! I'm watching this show with my friend who's never played fallout, and I'm like "the ncr used to be a country bro. They had a president bro." so Where's the president huh! Huh!!
Anyway, I've honestly been pretty much loving everything else. Maximus is killing it this season. I never really GAF about the BOS (compared to other factions) but i like this direction. The confrontation between him and quintus in ep. 4 was so good. I love dane, i love thaddeus. I love thaddeus being the Fagin to a bunch of ragamuffin orphans. Great stuff. Hope to see him and max leading their band of children across the desert next ep.
Speaking of which, HOLY SHIT i love the desert. Every tv show and movie ever made should be set in the mojave desert. They'll cut to some shot of a character talking and you'll just casually see the most staggeringly beautiful landscape you've ever seen in the background. The mountains. Oh my god. The desert!!!! 🏜
Lucy and Ghoul roadtrip is also great. Lucy getting addicted to buffout is so fkcin funny. I love ella purnell and her big baby deer eyes.
I'm also excited for the continuing adventure of norm and his managers. "I just drove under that bridge last week." Sad.
The vault stuff? Also good. Betty begging for her vault's life. The scene between her and eyepatch gave me a real sense of unease. The vaults have always freaked me out. Being trapped down there. And then chaos erupts. Your water dries up. Awful, awful. Great stuff. And zach cherry is there!
The fate of the Legion, i think, is hilarious, and i accept that I'm biased, bc fuck the legion. Love to see this bunch of assholes fighting the lamest and dumbest civil war you've ever seen, a no-mans-land that's just a single hill, literally squabbling over caesers nasty bones. I do wonder what this means as far as the wider legion "civilization". What the hell is going on tucson and pheonix, etc.
My biggest complaint so far (because I'm not drawing my final judgment abt the Vegas/NCR Lore Implications until the season is over) is that....they got to vegas and.... it's so small. Like. I get it. It's a tv show. And the set is gorgeous, it looks....well it looks just like the game. All the sets so far have been gorgeous. The effects are great. I've been loving all the practical effects, the puppets (!!!!).
But the thing i'd really, really hoped to see is New Vegas At Scale. The game is small bc it was made fifteen years ago, in 45 minutes. And I get it. Theres more eps to see. For now I'm just gonna stare some more at the concept art.

Which companions would you say Katie has the best relationships with and why?

So overall I think that katie forms pretty close bonds with everyone. I think she just has an intense attachment style. lol
But - her closest friends are Boone & Veronica, and also ed-e, being the first companions she acquires. I see the three of them (and ed-e) as being the core that the eventual final group of everybody forms around.
(I also like to think about how the rest of the team (crew posse etc) forms relationships with each other, outside of kate/the courier. there's so much opportunity for fun dynamics betwn these ppl. the lack of actual canon interactions between everybody just makes me want it more. like…..they're friends and they're camping. thats my favorite stuff)

A little more specifically about veronica, boone & Ed-e:
Veronica: I imagine that kate and Veronica are Besties. When they met, i think they baseline just clicked immediately. kate is a goofy, rambunctious sort of character, and I think veronica would appreciate her silliness and her antics. Like truly I think this girl yearns for antics. And Kate is an unserious person to a fault. So, I think their relationship brings out a silly side in them both, like they encourage silliness in each other. The classic 'When we hang out neither of us is holding the braincell' type dynamic. They're Girlies. Two late-twenties Girlies who just want to have fun!! They also have some kind of... complicated *cough*gay sort of codependence thing going on.....yk how it is.........more on that later
Boone: Boone is the first human friend kate makes. They immediately bond over their shared "kill on sight" beef with the legion. He's obviously not super quick to open up, but i also think that him and kate agree on a lot. They're on the same page most of the time. And since he doesn't usually vocally disagree with her, she takes it seriously if he does. Kate is a pretty hotheaded person and extremely stubborn. I think boone is the one person whose advice she consistently actually listens to. And, though kate is a compulsive yapper, I think she appreciates quiet time just like. Hangin out with boone.
ED-E: that’s her baby boy. Her first recruit and most trusted confidant. She fixed him up and immediately imprinted on him. Reverse duckling style. She takes him everywhere. (Sad for me bc he's hard to draw lol) once she gets her hands on that camera it's nothing but ede pics
