And when at last you find someone to whom you feel you can pour out your soul, you stop in shock at the words you utter - they are so rusty, so ugly, so meaningless and feeble from being kept in the small cramped dark inside you so long.
Sylvia Plath (via quotemadness)
What is hardest to accept about the passage of time is that the people who once mattered the most to us wind up in parentheses.

Reading some of the articles Noelle has shared after the drop of Season 5 really opened my eyes to how difficult it mustâve been to make the show as gay as it was. I thought Dreamworks was just being super cool with everything, but she talked about how she really had to take her time with it; doing her best to be super convincing, being careful in picking the right times/vibe to meet with the execs, and not reveal all of what she wanted to be portrayed on screen all at once. How the catradora endgame she wanted was revealed to the exces later on, and how she broke down and cried when it was approved. It just goes to show what happens when actual LGBT folk run a show â theyâll actually fight for that representation! AND make sure it is good representation!
(I mean, would a cis-hetero have fought/pushed as hard for that rep? Or would they have just shrugged and been like âwelp, it is what it isâ and moved on? Previous shows have paved the way for She-Ra, but Noelle really pushed and pushed what they could show on screen)
Noelle also did a great job of making the representation feel normal. Iâm tired of gay/queer characters having their gayness/queerness be their only defining characteristic/personality or dying off in the end, and She-Ra just set the bar extremely high for every future show.Â
My PIN number to this day is my second grade best friends birthday. There are people I donât talk to anymore whose families are still in my prayers. There are shirts I wear to bed from exes of 8 years ago who are married now with kids. And I havenât found a macaroni salad recipe better than my college boyfriendâs momâs. Our lives are made up of so many people and when people become parts of our lives, some parts remain long after they leave. And in the same exact way, itâs comforting to know there are so many lives youâre still a part of that you have no idea about.

I decided to repaint the âLa Banderaâ card from my queer version of the traditional Mexican game of LoteriĚa as the POC Pride flag. Previously, it had been the standard rainbow flag. I wanted to highlight the struggles and achievements of POC queer folks in this painting, especially now, in light of current tragedies and protests (and it also feels appropriate to a Mexican game!). I have not been posting to social media for a week or so, other than to share the work of black artists, because I did not want to distract from black voices. But I want to do something to help, so I decided to offer all money from the sale of this painting to the NAACP. The money from all  prints of it purchased on Etsy will be donated. Also, I am offering the original in a sort of auction, and the money will be given to the NAACP as well. I am offering it for a starting âbidâ of 200 USD. Whoever offers me most will get it, and i will donate the money to the NAACP right away.  Just send me a private message at my instagram account @felixdeon and Iâll post it for you! So far it is 400 USD. To find the print, look up âtheartoffelixdeonâ on etsy, or click on the link Oh, and the original painting measures 5.5 x 7.25 inches Â
Celebrating Mermay with a queer, Edwardian, seaside romance. I painted this perhaps 7 years ago, but i just changed the frame to add the title (the frame is a vintage music sheet, and it had the original title before.) Available as a print in my Society6 shop.Â

> This is actually not terrible and fairly enjoyable.
This is actually really cool and fun and as a flute player Iâm vastly impressed.
These guys are super cool, and this video was made during a Buskers Festival in my hometown, Ferrara!
The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women like Miss Major and other people of colour paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you arenât also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. We need to amplify their voices and show any support we can. (Edited to add links and make the image clearer)
