I’d imagine this sculpture to be in an abandoned mansion somewhere in France, the heavy ghost of the past hanging over it. I see white marble reflecting warm light, old paintings in artistically carved, heavy, golden frames on the walls, luxurious furniture that is upholstered with sun-bleached velvet and a lot of space. Seriously, a lot of it. This was and still is a big mansion.
The person who is wandering around and exploring the area might wonder who this woman was or what she meant to the former inhabitants of this mansion, but these questions have to remain unanswered, since these people have been gone for a long time already.
Sunshine falls through the destroyed roof that is so high above your head, the room in between you and the ceiling seems to stretch to an extend where it induces lightheadedness.
After a short struggle to stay on your feet, you look around. Everything appears to be perfectly peaceful, though something about the sunlight that illuminates this lovely scene seems to have changed. It's just an inexplicable feeling. Aside from the gentle rustling noises of fallen leaves that are created by a light breeze carrying them around, everything is completely silent. There are no cars, no people, not even farm animals. Was it like that before? Who knows what else you might find here now.
