fascinated by jeff the killer tbh. everyone in that creepypasta has generic white usamerican names (jeff, keith, barbara, billy, etc.) except for jeff the killer's doe eyed little brother liu. why is he liu. is liu chinese? it's okay if he's chinese. is jeff also chinese? has jeff the killer been chinese this whole time? am I a bad person?
squirrelflight's hope is a very bad book but "she deserved to be loved." "she was loved. i loved her." is genuinely one of the greatest most emotionally raw lines in all of the books ever. there is so much in there. she was loved. i loved her. i can't explain to you guys what happens to me when i think about she was loved i loved her
Just a friendly reminder that the only bet Kaz Brekker ever lost was based on his unshakable belief that a father had to love his son
one thing i hate about the soc fandom is the amount of people who act like jesper and his father have a healthy relationship; i know a lot of these posts are joke posts but it just irks me so bad.
colm fahey was NOT a good father and he did not have a healthy relationship with his son whatsoever. in fact it's literally stated that the primary cause of jesper's gambling addiction stems from his father because he instilled fear and shame within jepser just for being grisha. even in his childhood, aditi had to teach jesper to use his powers as a fabrikator in secret. a father who fears his son cannot have a healthy relationship with his child because no matter how much he hides it, that fear will always be apparent through his actions.
what primarily makes colm a better father than most is that he's trying, he listened to jesper's outburst and he's trying to remedy his relationship with his son even if it's so late.

im so obsessed with the idea that kaz just reads everything for wylan, but in such a natural way that everyone forgets that it's because wylan can't read, and kaz kind of forgets that everyone else can read
kaz bringing in the newspaper saying 'look at this', slamming the paper down on the table for for everyone to see and announces the headline 'pekka rollins shits himself in the harbour'. it's just instinctual to read it out, even though everyone else at the table can read what it says
kaz going to restaurants with the crows and handing wylan a menu saying 'they've got that herb chicken you like'. then he scans it again and points to a couple of things that he also knows wylan likes, and it's so causal and conversational and wylan doesn't feel scrutinised, or as though he's being looked after
(kaz also starts point out things the others like before remembering that they can read the menu and then just stops talking)
kaz and wylan going to coffee shops and kaz goes 'what do you think you're gonna get' before they get there so that wylan doesn't panic inside the shop. and he doesn't leave room for wyan to ask him to read things out, because kaz knows he hates doing that. so they go and kaz just says 'you want syrup in your coffee? they've got vanilla, caramel, or hazelnut'
and it's just so easy and instinctual. it makes wylan feel normal, because being read to isnt a big part of what's going on. kaz just manages to easily slip it into conversation without thinking, as though he does it with everyone
(now imagine wylan isn't there and kaz begrudgingly gets waffles with another member of the dregs (he's getting soft) and immediately goes 'what sort of syrup do you like? because they've got apple, strawberry or chocolate, but it does say you can get a mix' and the dreg is like 'i know? the menu is right in front of me?' and kaz just kind of realises that he doesn't even think about doing it anymore)
(also imagine him getting a letter and some of the higher ranked dregs need to know about it, and instead of just giving them it to read, kaz starts just reading it out, and all of the other dregs are like 'isn't it easier is we just read it ourselves?' and kaz just pauses and wonders when he actually started hanging out with wylan so much that he's the only person he knows how to talk to)
not now kitten. daddy's realizing that the scene he invested 1000 words into could be significantly improved but only if he started over from scratch
to me , supernatural is unfinished
After 17 years in captivity, Panama’s golden frogs are being reintroduced to the wild following devastating losses from chytrid fungus.
From the article:
For the first time in nearly two decades, Panama’s forest streams are once again home to flashes of bright yellow. The Panamanian golden frog (Atelopus zeteki) is being reintroduced to the wild 17 years after a fungal epidemic wiped it out in its native habitat. The return follows years of captive breeding, disease research, and carefully staged release trials aimed at navigating one of the most destructive wildlife pathogens ever recorded. [...] The golden frog is not the only species benefiting from these efforts. In the past year, PARC successfully reintroduced three additional species: the crowned tree frog (Tripion spinosus), Pratt’s rocket frog (Colostethus pratti), and the lemur leaf frog (Agalychnis lemur). Each release contributes to a growing body of knowledge about amphibian conservation in the age of chytrid fungus.
I teared up hearing this news. As someone deeply enmeshed in reptile and amphibian conservation for my entire adult life, the terror of chytrid has always loomed large. I have a close friend who is currently researching it, we talk about its conservation impacts frequently.
Golden frogs have been the poster child for chytrid extinction for so long. I remember always looking out for them at conservation facilities and thinking "this species literally only exists because we refused to just let them go extinct". To know that some of them are back in the wild already is overwhelming. Though I know we have made huge leaps in our understanding of chytrid, it is such a vicious disease that I don't think I was even sure I would live to see golden frogs return to Panama.
This reintroduction effort has not been without setbacks, but that it is happening at all, that we are finding ways to put pockets of golden frogs back in places the fungus can't reach them, that we have stable enough populations in human care to even risk it, is amazing.
You Have More Power Than You Think You Do: A Case Study In Getting Shit Done
I don't live in a walkable city.
I live in a mid-sized Texas town that only realizes that there are people who don't drive when TXDoT gives them money for active transportation infrastructure.
People constantly tell me that you just cannot walk or ride a bike in this city. It's impossible!
I do it anyway, because I firmly believe that solarpunk is a useless aesthetic if you aren't living it as best you can. We don't need technology to solve our problems we need will.
Also I do volunteer work on the political side of the local animal shelter and so I find myself at city hall several times a year and there's no bike rack.
Or rather there wasn't a bike rack.
I complained to someone, politely, informing them that I am doing this volunteer work and I don't have any safe place to lock my bike and that locking it to a handrail is inconvenient for everyone and also hideous.
A few months later a single staple-style bike rack was installed at city hall. It's not much, but I got sent a photo of someone else who got to use it before I did, clearly there was a need, if small.
Then I turned my gaze to the local grocery store, which had a bike rack, but the bike rack was terrible. It was too short for modern tire sizes, it was placed too close to the wall so one side was useless, and it was generally pretty cramped.
It took some time, but an advocate friend told me to contact the property owner instead of banging my head against the wall contacting HEB itself, and so I sent another polite complaint with a photo, explaining why it wasn't a very good bike rack and it would be really cool if we had a different one with better placement.
And about two months later, we have new staple-style racks at the grocery store, properly placed for maximum parking.
It's not a new bike lane. It's not a removal of parking minimums. It's not infill development or an active transportation advisory board.
They're just bike racks.
But that's the beauty of it. I, a person with an email address, some basic "how to be firm but polite while making an argument" skills, and a willingness to work out who to contact, fixed two problems for the local community. Trust me, I have had people wait on me to unlock my bike so they could have the "good spot." I was not the only person annoyed at the old rack.
It can be done. You're not powerless. Solarpunk doesn't have to be a wishful aesthetic.
Technology will not save us.
We have to save us.
Just reblogged a post from 2012 - so in 2026 I’m going to ask the question again….
How many Supernatural fans are STILL on Tumblr??
Reblog this once - let’s see how many of us are still here!
