To say Megatron was irritated was an understatement. He was prone to sour moods regularly enough as it was, but this one scarcely had a source he could point at. Everything had begun to grate on him—the thrum of the warship's engines too loud, the bridge too crowded with Vehicons, the whisperings of the Unmaker more noticeable. Those minor annoyances had brought his mood to a simmer; just manageable without boiling over. Still, no matter his mood, he still had matters to attend to. He rounded the corner, stomping his way down the long corridor that led towards the warship's engines, though his destination lay a little before them. Without so much as a knock or chime to alert the lab's occupant of his presence, Megatron wrenched the door open and invited himself inside—none-too-quietly. His E.M. field flared and flickered around his frame, evidence of his foul mood pouring into the room.

His work has been delayed for many kliks now. The solace of silence made him sanguine enough to begin his functions again —— only for his work to pause at the grating irritants of noise flooding his audials.

Emotive suppressants didn't work. Shockwave, in an act of desperate remediation, even attempted to sever the ties within his own mental nodules. Nothing. Nothing to ail his anger as it fluctuates to random stimuli normal && routine for the ship.

At least, he would think, he had the sanctuary of his corner of the ship. In the depths of the Nemesis where he might tuck away quietly until his agitated spells tide over, but all hope is promptly dashed at the squeal of metal whining open. The door rending at the seals, groaning as it broke unclean off of its hinges. It stood no chance against its assailant — him and the unruly behavior in tow.

" What - is it? " Shockwave gurned with an instant flare of his EMField immediately poisoning the shared space between them. " Lord. Megatron. " He amended with obvious delay and a rapid decline of respect.

M!A - The Sins of One

All it takes is one bad apple to ruin an entire barrel. One person to ruin it for others. To pay for the sins of one person. And you, unfortunately, have to pay for the doings of one of your compatriots.

For the next two weeks, muse will find it hard to find happiness. What does this mean? In short, muse is much more easily irritable, easier to annoy, quicker to anger and frustrate. It isn't impossible to find happiness, but it is so easily crushed and ruined. A pin drop in the next room over could aggravate someone. Spending time in the company of another won't have the same nice affect. Jokes you'd find funny aren't funny anymore. You may not have the patience to listen to someone vent about their bad day without wanting to yell at them to be silent. Cuddlebuddies may be shunned to the couch because the mere thought of being in the room with someone else makes your skin crawl. Even if you seek shelter alone in your room, it may not help at all.

As if it were not grating enough to share such a closeness with a near stranger, this one insists. Shockwave ought to stipend his request, but finds he cannot.

He lifts his arm with a flick of his wrist, inviting Allen in.

" Go ahead, " his lens flashes with a stripe," make it quick. "

There was much and more that could be said about Starscream, considering how long they had known each other.

“Starscream is as much a thorn in my side as he is a valuable asset. He is my protégé; mine to shape into the Decepticon ideal. When we met, he was much more naive, bright-opticked and seemingly desiring little more than my undivided attention.” And Megatronus had been happy to bestow it upon him, scrawling his name across the gleaming span of his wings and talking with him until they were forced to go their separate ways. “In some ways, little has changed: he still vies for my attention, though not all of it is positive.”

He narrows his optics and clenches his jaw, considering.

“He fulfils most of my expectations… and has developed his own for me; he frets and fusses needlessly about my physical state. He has witnessed what I’m capable of enduring for himself more times than most, yet he worries regardless. It’s irritating… but it appears to be something he reserves for me alone.

“Still, that does nothing to interfere with his aspirations—believing he would do better in my position than I do. He seems to overlook how many are loyal to me in addition to the Cause, and how it’s my influence that keeps so many of them in line.”

A heavy sigh leaves him, and then his lips quirk up at the corners.

“All that to say he is mine, no matter what denials he might give.”

Upon Shockwave's desk is a modest pile of ore-rich rocks, each carefully selected for their flavour profiles and their reactions with energon. Accompanying the rocks is a brief note:

Shockwave, I believe this may be of use in your culinary endeavours. — Megatron

It's humorous to him that of all things to be remembered for, it was his prowess as a culinarian. He takes it with pride that his Lord Commander seems to enjoy his creation whether in the lab or in the kitchen; these gifts as well.

They are tucked away into the cabinet for later use. Perhaps, not so much later, as he was already constructing a recipe to create for Megatron.

When the Seeker returns to ‘his’ nest, he will find a box with a scrawl of glyphs reading:

Starscream, I trust this will alleviate your boredom while you are off-duty. — Megatron

Inside is a 9000-piece puzzle, depicting a familiar scene from a time long since passed: the Pit and the crowds filling the stands, pressed in close to one another; a foe larger than life standing before a silver-and-red gladiator, armed with a sword and a battered shield. A match much like any other to the untrained optic, but a shared memory between Lord and Commander; a recreation of the fight Megatron had won just before their first meeting.

The gesture is sickeningly sentimental, but he believes Starscream won't mind, given that the puzzle should keep him occupied and out of trouble at the very least.

Normally, Starscream would squawk defiantly at being given some ' busy task ' per case of ' boredom '. An argument that Megatron clearly doesn't value all the fine work he performs on this ship. But — his complaints catch in his throat when the image is revealed over the box.

Frowning, a claw is touched along the border in sentimental memory. His mind recesses to another time: the smell of rusted energon spilling at his feet, the grinding rend of metal squealing under a fatal twist, the roar of a crowd far too enthusiastic and loud for the young aspirant Vosian.

Oh, and Megatron, no— Megatronus. The valiant, venerable gladiator who won all especially Starscream's naive spark. Oh, how he wanted to be him. What he wouldn't have done to stand in the pit with him, servo in loving servo, to share in gruesome victory.

An old wing flicks, twitching in sensory memory from base to tip, the thick scawlings of Megatron's name written in energon-blue.

In any consideration, Megatron's diversion was a complete success as Starscream is stunlocked in annals of memory. The seal is never broken, only a box withheld in remembering servos.

Upon entering his laboratory, he will find a bottle perched at the edge of the centermost table.

Closer inspection reveals it to be an Iconian highgrade. The label describes subtle, smokey notes, produced during the extensive aging process.

There is a small tag attached around the neck of the vessel. It reads:

To make your holiday more... festive.

Iaconic high grade in a world and culture long passed? Shockwave was left questioning the validity of its brew, but he understood Naja to be an exceedingly thorough femme with a pristine collection set. He grasps the neck of this bottle with mindfulness before storing it away to chill for a while longer.

Thus, his note is returned:

He wasnt sure if Shockwave would appreciate it, or be interested at all. But Ghostspire is leaving the scientist some aged Vosian high grade, and some new high end scalpels made to be both durable and sharp.

Interested? Debatable. Appreciative? Immensely so. It is the practicality of the gift that buds his gratuity. The high grade is a bonus as Vosian delicacies have always been a favorite of his; the refinement of flavor, namely.
