it's not about Armand as a character, he isn't real as much as i care abt him, it's about ASSAD ZAMAN who is an actual person with a career that AMC consistently does nothing to further and actually actively underserves/ excludes from promotion while most of his castmates careers are very evidently taking off or seeing a ressurgence from iwtv press and trailers and nominations. Literally what I've been saying this whole time: Lestat needed to check his white privilege at the door, and he NEVER did. He's living in Jim Crow NOLA in America's DEEP SOUTH where even straight Black men got publicly lynched just for looking a white woman in the eye or making white men feel uncomfortable ("git yer hands off me, N****r!" in 1x1 hello?????)--and yet clowns online actually expect LOUIS to have gallivanted all over town in a corset and heels, like BFFR. Despite whatever Louis WANTED to look & act & dress like, he had to CONFORM. It wasn't SAFE for him.

It wasn't even that safe for Lestat (homophobic cops in 1x5 threatening Loustat with PRISON, hello?!!!), which is why the ONLY time we even see Lestat in drag is on Mardi Gras (a carnival for dressing in costume--or drag) on the night he knows he's LEAVING NOLA for good!
