To everyone who was in this fandom with me, and here to the end of the line, thank-you. Thank-you so much for everyone who theorized with me, laughed, cried, screamed at the TV with me. 

Thank- you for reading my fics, sharing my fics, commenting on my fics. Thank-you to all my mutuals. Thank-you to everyone who followed me who I didn’t follow back. Thank-you to the people who I follow.

Thank-you for the best five years of my life, when I didn’t know what Arrow or Tumblr was. So thank you so so so much! It has been a great ride!

A/N: Hi, this is for @green-arrows-of-karamel Mare. Sorry! I hope you can forgive me for the angstyness that I accidentally wrote, with HEA ofcourse. This is a WWI Olicity AU (aka Shale was watching waaaaay too much Anne of Green Gables so any fans will probably recognize this scene) This will probably be my last Olicity fic so I hope everyone enjoys it. The informal letter from the US Army expressing condolences for her loss, the empty platitudes of gratitude for a service well done. She’d burned the letter. 

John Diggle, his commanding officer, had shown up at her door with grief in his eyes and apologies on his lips. She’d slammed the door in his face. 

Roy Harper, the boy who’d followed him to war, who worshiped the very ground he’d walked on, who’d lost an arm that very day, in the same battle, by the very same explosion that had taken his life, who sobbed with pain and horror-filled memories– she’d listened, hugged, comforted, but refused to be convinced. 

Felicity Smoak-Queen refused to believe that her husband was dead.

@emeraldoliverqueen Hi Holly, I wrote a fic about Mia with a summer job before she became a socialite in the paradise universe with some liberties of course. Hope you enjoy! I Had a lot of fun writing.

Although this wasn’t the worst place she could be, Mia hadn’t imagined her summer job here. She wiped the grease off her hand and on to her apron. With her dad as the Mayor and mom as the CEO of the biggest tech company, Mia didn’t think that they were serious when they send she needed a job for her last summer before college. They were. They wanted her to get an internship with some company will William had. Mia didn’t know what she wanted to do so she was here. And she wasn’t happy about it. Oliver and Felicity were able to pull some with strings Carly and get her a job at Big Belly Burger.

“Welcome to Big Belly Burger how may I help you?” Mia asked the next customer. Not paying any attention to who it was.

“Mia?” Connor asked. His eyebrow lifted in surprise. “I didn’t know you worked here. I thought you were to busy getting into trouble to have a job.”

“Very funny,” she rolled her eyes, “my parents had other plans for me, unfortunately. Do you want your usual?”

“How do you even know my order?” Connor asked teasing the smaller blonde.

In case you didn’t know, I am (now) an avid watcher of Anne with an E. If you don’t know what that is you’re a disappointment and a disgrace  It’s on Netflix! Beautifully written with POC and LGBT and Indigenous  characters and a fantastic discussion of feminism. Not to mention a swoony-worthy OTP couple.

On 8x10: I will say it.

Arrow didn’t treat its hero or its central characters right. For a show that has ignored continuity and timelines 4985985098948 times in the past, are they seriously telling me they couldn’t have resurrected Oliver Queen and given him a happy life, where he got to raise Mia and William with his wife? That he didn’t get to retire to Aruba and keep bees or something? ARE THEY FUCKING KIDDING ME?

Sure, the afterlife scene was adorable, but this still means Mia grew up without her father. That William knew him for less than four years. That Felicity spent decades waiting to see Oliver again.

And that Oliver goddamn Queen, who went through hell to become the kind of person he did, still is very fucking dead.

Arrow meant a lot to me, and in many ways, it will remain my favorite tv show on the varying shades of heroism.

But I know I am not alone in saying that Oliver goddamn Queen deserved better.

okay but he put the picture of Douchebag Oliie and Robert there specifically so that the first time he saw her again, it would be like the very first time he ever saw her and I can definitely get behind that.

second thing I really don’t hate: THE LOOK.

The “no one has ever looked at me the way he looks at you” (thanks Donna) look. The “that way he looks at you” (via Curtis) look. 

He’s been waiting for this moment for a long time.

(Like, come on - how beautiful is it though that he has had 20 years basically doing nothing but imagining and waiting for and setting the stage for that perfect moment when he gets to see her again?)

and I guess, if I’m really gonna get into it, it’s worth mentioning how he’s standing there with his head tilted and that amused look on his face, watching her - like he does in 3x14, yes. But also like he does in 1x03 as he’s waiting for her to turn around (”Felicity Smoak…?”)…and very much like in 1x09, let’s be real (”Hey.” / “Don’t you knock?”)

Okay also ALSO also she’s still holding onto her wedding ring as she looks around the space. And she’s crying/laughing!

Like she’s looking around noticing: she’s in what she believes is Oliver’s old office, seeing mementos of him and their life all around (she’s dressed as she was the day they met - and so is he, like I said in this post - down to the fact that her hair is wrapped around her ponytail like she wore it in season 1 😭)

She’s making this face!!! AND HER HAND ON HER RING!!! 💗😭💗😭

and yeah obviously we don’t need to mention the fact that he left HER red pen there…or that she picks it up and holds it to her heart…or that she ends up putting it in her mouth… 😭😭😭

Let’s all just take a moment to appreciate Oliver’s Face of Peace and Tranquility and Pure Happiness Also Known As The Face He Only Makes When Felicity Is In His Arms:

And, last but not least…the fact that the very last expression on his face is a smile of contentment.
