Natalie Dormer in the Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Teaser Trailer
It’s always been a joke to a lot of my friends that I play these cool femme fatales who look like they could take over the world with their little finger. I’m not really that, it’s fair to say! When it comes down to it, I’m quite a loquacious, quirky, clumsy human being.
I don’t take the red carpet seriously. Actors are not models. We have to be real people and look quirky and imperfect. Telling stories is a celebration of human nature, which means you’re not perfect inside or outside.
Privacy is important to me. But it’s not just about sticking two fingers up and saying I don’t want anyone to know my business. It’s an artistic choice. I think that for any actor to convince their audience that they have completely inhabited a character requires a certain level of anonymity.
Is it just me... or does Aneurin Barnard look terribly fat in The Scandalous Lady W?
1. why are you sending this to a natalie blog
2. why would it matter
“[Margaery Tyrell would be] the most modern of all the characters in Game Of Thrones. She is very much a PR genius. Now she would be one of those It girls, tweeting and Instagramming their latest dresses and raising money for orphanages by running half-marathons. She’d be rivaling Kim Kardashian for numbers of followers on Twitter and Instagram!”
I had sworn I wasn't going to get back into a corset for a while. Now I am "Natalie Dormer with a machine gun" [in the Hunger Games] but 20 months ago I was "Natalie Dormer always in a corset". It had to be a really strong story to warrant me getting back into a corset but I read the book and it was so incredible and engaging and intoxicating, I thought: I don't want anyone else to play this woman.
