Let You Down || Cadelle
Elle had never been in a situation like this. That's what made it so confusing for her. She had never lost someone she loved, other than Austin, but that was different. Austin was still out there, alive and kicking, she hand't lost him to himself, or even to the darkness, not like Caden had lost Hunter, and as emotionally inept as everybody assumed Elle was, she still felt. She still wanted to help but she also knew deep down that she probably couldn't. Half of her regretted inviting Caden to board that plane to Mexico with her, because now Elle knew that one way or another, he wasn't going to, that she'd have to go and hand that ticket to him knowing he wouldn't be at the airport, and if he still planned on being there, she already knew she'd turn him right back around. He couldn't just leave this behind. It was impossible. The sheets of flimsy paper felt heavy in her hands as she drew around the corner to Caden's room, her arm instinctively reaching out and pushing the door lightly and finding it unlocked but not ajar enough to see inside. The small space that she had cleared with her light push was enough as she stepped forward, pushing it a little further, whatever was going to happen, she knew she had never and would never be emotionally prepared for, "Caden," she inquired with her tone light, almost as if she didn't want an answer, but she was already walking through the door, her blue eyes only just searching the room for the brunette boy.
