Appreciation post for the talented sweetheart and cutie that is Mr. Daniel Nicholas Durant (born December 24th, 1989)!!! Part 1:

1. Aww... Seeing him cry or tear up makes me really sad, but also, how incredibly sweet of both of his moms to send in a video message to tell him how proud they are of him and how much they love him. "Who Wouldn't Want More Moms?" Title of his autobiography/memoir that would SO be on my reading list. It still makes me sad and a little bit angry that his birth mother left this poor thing behind when he was just a baby, but unfortunately, it's a true story for quite a lot of people, which I personally can't (and don't even want to) imagine. I'm glad he's in such a good place now, though. I love how proud he is, not just that he's deaf, but also that he was adopted as a really young (and I can imagine quite cute) little guy. I would love to, at some point, have kids of my own, but I would want to adopt them/become a foster mom, and it wouldn't matter to me what they would look like or what their background was because I would love them all equally and unconditionally. If I ever adopted a deaf child, I would totally incorporate deaf culture and sign language into the family because I just love love, no matter what kind it is.

2. He signs so beautifully and eloquently, so it reminds me of royalty. Who else would love to see him play a Disney prince?

3. How precious was little Daniel at the age that he was back when he was so carefree just having the time of his life just chilling in his mom's car and jamming to NPR Talk Radio (lol). It's so funny and cute! Kelly Clarkson Show, please have him back at some point!

4. Happy, giggly, bubbly, cute Daniel is one of my favorite versions of Daniel, along with rock star Daniel and sharp dressed Daniel.

5. He just looks so comfy and cozy in that bed/sofa thing in the picture above.

6. I love these boys' friendship so much! Adorable on and offstage brothers, and they both brought Deaf West Spring Awakening's Moritz Stiefel to life SO BEAUTIFULLY!!! I'm still very sad that production has closed, and I really wish that they could bring it back!!! 🤍🕊🖤🥺🤧🦋

7. And here's gamer Daniel! Whoo hoo! Sorry to sound like a video game cheerleader, but he looks so intensely cute playing video games, and I love that for him.

8. Daniel with Mama Bear Marlee is so effing cute!!! I love their friendship and rapport so much!!! Anytime they play mother and son or a relationship resembling that, it just makes my heart so happy and warm.

9. A cute couple that dances together stays together! I will never not be grateful for them and all the magic they brought to DWTS in Season 31, and I love Daniel & Britt so much!!!

10. Above all, Daniel is such a multi-talented actor and human being. Any character that I see him play makes me prouder and prouder of him each and every day!!! (I just want to say that Daniel is still doing great!)

Luis Madrigal headcanons

Family & Gifts:

-After Mirabel saved the miracle, the magic doubled! The next generation revived TWO gifts

-Luis was the only Madrigal of his generation to receive just one gift — super strength like his mother — while everyone else was blessed with two powers.

-Though he never shows it, it sometimes stings that he didn’t get a second gift like the others.

-He feels like he’s gotta be extra strong to make up for it.

-A lot of people unfairly compare him to his mother, Luisa, who was known for her incredible strength and endless resilience.

-Luis secretly worries he’ll never live up to her legend.

-Despite all that, he’s very close to Luisa — she’s the one who reminds him he’s so much more than his gift.

-Luisa makes sure her son takes time to relax when she feels he’s burning himself out

-His cousins have always treated him like an equal, no matter the number of gifts — especially Mirabel’s kids (who learned well from her).

-Luis hasa special bond with his Tia Mirabel. She’s one of the only adults Luis goes to when he feels overwhelmed. She “gets it” — the feeling of being “the odd one out” in a magical family.

Meet Luis

Hi, guys! I’m Luis Madrigal. Yes, the magic-miracle-columbian-encanto Madrigals.

My story? Well, I come from a big family. My mom is Luisa Madrigal, and she’s the best! Sorry, I’m a bit of a mama’s boy. The real story happened before I was born. After my Tia Mirabel saved the miracle, it grew more powerful. My siblings and cousins were born with two gifts. I just have…one…super strength. Just like I mom, I guess. It doesn’t bother me, though. I still love my fam, I just gotta work harder to help out. No pressure…

If you want to know more about me, I love my family, I’m kinda a softie, and I love helping, whether it’s lifting things, building things, carrying people. I’ve always dreamed of going on adventures, and now I can get one! Recently Queen Mal and King Ben made an alliance with my abuela and we’ve joined Auradon. Not only that, I get to play in the Kingdom Cup Games!

I can’t wait! It'll show I’m just as strong as my family even if I don’t have two gifts. Also, it sounds fun and awesome! As my tia Mirabel always says, “you are fantastical and magical, you’re part of the family, Madrigal.”

Welcome back to "What if [insert fictional character here] had a therapist appointment?

Our next client doesn't need any introduction as far as I'm concerned. IT'S ELSA FROM FROZEN!!! From what I've seen of her in my metaphorical files, I see some semblance of OCD in certain things that Elsa does as well as Avoidant Attachment Style, particularly in the first Frozen movie and the Broadway musical.

And while we're already doing Elsa, we might as well do her sister Anna because why not? I think Anna has ADHD, Anxious Attachment Style, and abandonment issues. I didn't think I'd be so alliterative when going into the mental health of a Disney Princess, but here we are. That's my two cents on it. What do y'all think?

My headcanons for Cyrus "Cy" from Elephant Shoes:

1. His father wasn't really around when he was growing up, and he grew up in a house full of female relatives because he's literally male character written by a female author coded!!!

2. He also has traditionally feminine interests, including chick flicks and rom-coms, and some people in his life have asked him if he was gay, and he has repeatedly told them no, and he even says that he enjoys sports as well as chick flicks and rom-coms!!!

3. He's definitely in touch with his feminine side because he grew up around women, which there is absolutely nothing wrong with!!!

4. His female relatives definitely learned ASL to communicate with him!!!

5. He spends his free time watching chick flicks and rom-coms because why not?

6. Roxy is surprised that Cy is "not like other guys," but that's what makes him a great friend to men and women alike.

7. He also cooks and cleans, and he's even picked up sewing and needlework as one of his many hobbies!!!

8. He has a tattoo of the Shakespeare quote: "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them," and his favorite Shakespeare play is Romeo and Juliet, because of course it would be!!!

Our first client is Chip the Squirrel, and based on his chronic timidity and fear, if I were his therapist, I would probably diagnose him with some form of an anxiety disorder, but what do y'all think is the root of sweet little Chip's anxiety, if he indeed has anxiety?
