yeah but hey this is a real thing:

as an actor, stop getting mad at actors right off the bat. we have the least power in p much any production we're on unless we have another role as producer/writer/director. please know the power breakdown before you start harassing an actor who's just doing their job.

CASTING DIRECTORS are who you need to fight with. they decide who gets seen - the first people to decide if it's a diverse pool of actors or the same white man in a new jacket. it moves up from there, but I see a lot of people say things like "I am/i know actors who are perfect!! Why is it Whitey McStraightMan again??" probably because that's all the casting director let in.

Ask about casting directors. Who are they letting in and seeing for roles?? Hold them accountable. And if a casting director did all they could but a producer or director ignores them and went with McStraightMan, them the anger shifts and we move down the flowchart, but we'll stop here.

I don't think people know what casting directors do (I didn't until I went to college for acting), and they totally should, because CDs literally decide who gets considered.
