Oh but he was sure he would discover sooner than later. Not that this idea pleased him in anyway. He was sure this couldnât bode well for him, being captured by none other than the mighty vampire queen. Still, Narumi tried to stay optimistic. If not escaping, then maybe he could have some unknown use to her. But as optimistic as he was he knew that his path would end with death before he even hit 20. Â The nineteen year old soldier palm was moist but thanks to his gauntlets, she wouldnât know. Not that he thought she couldnât feel or hear his heart beating anxiously as she dragged him back to Sanguinem.
When he saw the doors leading to this town and the narrow passage, his hand tightened on her own and his heart skipped a beat. This was it, right? The vampireâs underground lair, their town. The main city hall and the livestocks. For a second, fear threatened to overwhelm him and his bottom lip trembled at the thought, but he shook his head and kept looking straight ahead. If he were to falter, sheâd ruin him and let his corpse for the crows to eat by the morning. So he followed quietly, going through that entrance where the Hyakuyas died and then the sewers before finally reaching town.. and eventually her palace.
She could probably smell it thick in the air how terrified he was. Especially as they walked through the gates and he was surrounded by vampires. Children with collars walked through the streets in ranks, all going to the same place. He assumed they were going to give their share of blood but he despised seeing them being treated like cattle. And he disliked even more that he felt like a piece of unwanted meat as disdainful stares and barely covered hisses were addressed at him. He was too old to be livestock, so why was their queen bringing a human there? He could practically read the confusion on their face, only giving them one of his own in return as an answer.âA..are you sure it was a good idea to bring me here? Your subjects⌠donât seem too pleased to see me ahah..ahâŚâ
She couldnât hear his heart exactly of course, but she could hear the fluttering pace of his pulse, pulsating from his wrist. It just made her want to rip him open- But of course, while there was a possibility of him being useful, that wouldnât be happening. Shame. He looked like he would be beautiful to rip to pieces- Literally.
As they entered her city, she kept her eyes trained straight ahead, a somewhat amused look on her face. Ah, what these people must be thinking- It didnât matter, they should know better than to question their queen, and if they choose to do so, she wonât mind making a few examples.Â
After hearing him speak, she turned her head to the side, mouth twisting into a frown as she started to glare at him slightly.
âThey ought to know better than to question their queen, and as you are now my property, you should know better than that too. It does not matter if my subjects are pleased, they should just trust in their queen and her decisions, for all of her decisions are for the sake of the country as a whole.â
Not entirely true, but it canât hurt to push her reputation as such.
"The offer for me to rule over Japan still stands. Can you really continue controlling over Japan?"
âDonât get cocky in my kingdom, darling-â
This isnât reassuring in the least. He felt a knot grow in his stomach, drying up his throat and tightening his jaw as her fingers caressed his gently, reminding him that despite her currently gentle touch, she was still there and he wouldnât be able to get anywhere. If he had half a mind to run a few seconds ago, learning about how she would torture him made him turn that idea down just as fast. Why was she taking him then? If she wasnât going to turn him or torture him for information about the JIDA and MDC then what was the purpose of keeping him?
Maybe he was better off not knowing. At this current second, Narumi decided he really didnât want to learn why Krul wanted him. âThatâs good to know. I will keep in mind not to cross you, Queen Tepes. I am not too fond of being mauled or treated as a test subject.â He swallowed thickly, the mask of humor he used a few minutes ago completely broken. No need for cheap jokes, there was nothing laughable about the situation he was in. If anything, it could only be described by incredibly life threatening and the only reason he was still alive was because he had yet to displease the mighty vampire empress.
âWell.. I am at least grateful that Iâm still alive.. I guess. Depending on what you intend to do with me, that is.â
She keeps a varying amount of pressure against his hand, making quite certain he wonât forget exactly who heâs been caught by. Oh, he can try to run if he wishes, but she might just end up ripping out his arm if he goes too far. Not because that was fun of course, but because if he attempted to escape, he deserved it. What prisoner would try to escape a jail theyâre attached to?Â
âOh dear little boy, donât you know humans have all sorts of uses~â She will get information out of him at one point or another, and if she gets nothing, a human made dead in front of caught livestock, especially a soldier, would serve a good example to keep these humans from thinking of rebellion. She will not have trouble stirred in her own territory, not by meddling dogs like these humans, itâs annoying enough with that blasted army, giving her unwanted attention in a negative light.
She canât wait to tear apart the foundation of that organization from itâs seams, and pull apart all talk of her not being able to handle the situation.
âAh, well Iâm sure youâll figure out in no time what I plan to do with you~â
She smiled, letting not a hint of her thoughts seep past.
âYou say that as if I know what blood tastes like. I donât know, but Iâm glad to be human so I can eat food and not drink blood. Iâd get tired of always having the same thing over and over .. ahhah..ahahâŚ.ââ Cheap jokes and humor were his defense right now against terror. ÂŤhow would you possibly stop me?Âť He wouldnât.  He knew that despite her petite stature, this little queen was at least twenty time stronger than him.Â
Krul Tepes, third progenitor. Even Guren and his squad couldnât possibly fight her head on. Maybe if the whole armyâ He wasnât even sure then. Narumiâs head was spinning and he tightened his grip on her small hand a little. If he was plotting, at least he wasnât pretending to not be terrified. Plotting was one of the only thing he could do alongside that terrible sense of humor.Â
ââHonestly, I wouldnât stop you. Iâm sure dying of a vampireâs bite is less painful than the torture I might be subjected to once back in your lair. Iâd be lying if I said that Iâm happy with my current situation, but Iâm a terrified coward who wants to live just that badly. Iâd do anything to live.ââ Â Heâs only nineteen years old. Admitting all of this to her was incredibly humiliating already and itâs with a heavy heart that he kept following her. The bridge of his nose dusted pink again and he averted his gaze to look at their surrounding area.Â
He did not recognize any of it.
She laughed, a small high pitched burst before staring at him with an amused manner. âWell, it isnât like weâre entirely restricted to just blood, we could also partake in other foods, itâs just typically, blood tastes.. Itâs a taste that you just donât really get with anything else~ Besides, even if you have the same type of blood, everyone has a slightly different flavor, itâs that nuanced flavor that really gets you loving the taste~ Unfortunately enough, I donât think I shall be sharing any with you~ Which Iâm sure pleases you fine-â
He seemed to be trying a little too hard to amuse himself, maybe in a way to keep himself from thinking too much about his situation. Fingers pressed gently against his, a reminder that she was there whether he wanted it or not, and he was caught in her grasp. Quite literally at that-
âNow, now, I didnât specify that Iâd be torturing you~ Although of course, if I did, I would make sure it is long and cruel, and every bit of your flesh will feel wrath.â She didnât plan on hurting him, exactly. She just needed to make sure to scare him enough so he wouldnât think to cross her. A method she used quite often with the beings she interacted with. Â
She smiled, the kind of smile that comes from someone who knows more than everyone else, before looking at him. âDonât worry, as long as youâre obedient, I donât plan on killing you anytime soon~â

âThat does make the thrill a lot better, I will admit - and of course, not that they can really do anything about it, but a rotting pile of corpses doesnât so much for the scenery I supposeâŚâ he trailed off thoughtfully; probably best not to waste any possible food sources⌠ah well, if an extra human or so died, he was certain no one important would care all that much.
âGo for spirit-crushing, but not so much anger that they decide to get cocky and band together, ok?â She was always ok with watching a few humans being beat down, because it kept the general populace in check. And if a few died on the way.. Well, they bred like guinea pigs anyway, they wouldnât die out unless one of those diseases came after them again. âAnd you know we have to dispose of them before they start stinking, right?â
ââŞđâŞâ¸ â âAnything to be of service to you, my queen.â   HOW FOOLISH the noble servant was, nothing more than a pest to the queen & yet still choosing to serve someone else. More deeply tied to them than the one that could surely end the little alliance she had come to be so attached to.   Sheâd be as useful as possible however, if it meant protecting her precious friendsâ family. A large weakness for such a selfish creature to have, & to have it known to one such as the queen was surely a sentence to eventual death if even one slip up occurred.   Horn knew it & was prepared to die for her lordâ Chess too, if the need arose.
A hand reached, gently caressing the otherâs cheek with a grateful smile on her face. Or something like that, anyway.
While this one was useful to her, Krul wasnât going to let her think she could escape. Little things, little things she would let go until they became too obvious to ignore. They could forge ahead, play this little game of alliance amongst themselves.
But they were her subjects, her followers, and she wouldnât let that simply slip out of her fingers.
âI really should use you as the set example for the other nobles, your loyalty is admirable, Iâm glad there is at least one I can trust~â
Clever fingers pull at small heartstrings, beckoning with the reminder that one mistake will lead to a downfall.. So may she be careful for as long as she can last-
