ted lasso proves to me that platonic soulmates will never seriously be viewed as comparable to romantic love because what do you mean ted leaves for america and doesn’t even think about asking rebecca to come with him? mind you this is with me saying ted and rebecca should’ve absolutely gotten together but the show itself pushes their twin flame invisible string platonic love and connection and they are purposefully paralleled against and with each other throughout all 3 seasons in a way that’s unavoidable not to view one in the context of the other. and the show just accepts they can survive an ocean apart after finding one another! the show started the finale with a morning after fakeout between them to make you think they’ve had sex and then spent the entire episode proving they’re transient to the other as long as they’re platonic. and maybe just maybe i could’ve accepted the tragic romance for what it is if the entire fanbase didn’t delude themselves that the worse way the show peddles their relationship is better actually. because woke
