“ Kara … ” Cat teasingly mocked with the same exact tone — but with a hint of a smirk threatening to appear . AMUSEMENT was evident in her features and she had no desire to hide it either . Maybe then Kara would realize that this was a terrible idea … FAT CHANCE . As soon as the kryptonian pulled the stunt with the eyes , Cat knew she had NO CHANCE in escaping this fate . DAMN IT . “ F i n e … ” With a roll of her eyes , the media mogul turned her head to face her . “ But I’m holding you to THAT PROMISE , Miss Danvers . ”

       kara BEAMED then, bouncing slightly on her heels. ❝ thank you ! thank you, thank you, thank you ! ❞ she took cat’s face in her hands and KISSED HER squarely on the lips. ❝ i promise. whatever you want after this. chores done, articles singing your praises, sexual favors, ANYTHING. just…thank you. ❞

If only she could be as equally EXCITED about this dinner as Kara had been . Not only was she set to spend a several long , excruciating hours in a small space with her long-time rival , but she couldn’t even enjoy the CASUAL GLANCE towards Clark either . Not unless she wanted to receive the glare of the century from her partner . With a very obvious roll of her eyes and a heavy sigh to match , one leg crossed over the other as Cat mildly glanced through a set of potential newsworthy articles , “ I expect all of those things for an entire month --- NO EXCEPTIONS . ” Only then did the media mogul lift her head , eyes peering over the rim of her thick glasses , “ --- and make that a double for the sexual favors . ”

       kara narrowed her eyes slightly, but bit into the cupcake nonetheless. as soon as she did, she was in HEAVEN. she loved sweets of any kind, they didn’t even necessarily have to be well made. but this ? this was one of the best damn cupcakes she’d EVER had. ❝ oh my god, ❞ she murmured, ❝ okay…this is incredible. ❞

A satisfied smile danced across her matted lips at the SIGHT of her favorite reporter enjoying a rare delicacy that was granted to her by none other than Cat herself . She NEVER shared her sweets ( unless it was Carter of course ) , but with the current circumstance she was facing ... the media mogul believed it was finally time to TURN OVER A NEW LEAF and do something out of the norm of her usual routine . “ Of course it is , I only want the best --- and that is EXACTLY what I always get . ” Cat retorted with a proud hum following , “ I’m just glad you agree with me . Maybe one day --- you’ll have the opportunity to taste another cupcake of mine . IF you’re still on my good side , that is . ”

She had tired to convince Rhea that she could be useful in the end, she tried so hard to convince her that Cat could be controlled. Rhea knew better, she knew Olivia was clutching at straws to save her. Olivia had known they were coming, she was aware of what would happen but she never prepared for it to happen like this. “Am I? Would Earth take all these refugees without the fight? Would they? If your answer is yes, you are more delusional than I thought”

“I didn’t lie to you about this. You never asked if I was working for an alien queen” She quipped, it wasn’t the biggest secret she had been keeping from her secret love. Oh no, there was something much much bigger. “I haven’t lied to you about my feelings, never once. You, Carter, Adam. You are my family and I love you more than you know but you couldn’t keep your mouth shut just for a minute. None of this would have needed to happen if you just did as i asked and stayed away from that room” She couldn’t mask the pain in her voice by the end of her sentence. She could have made sure Cat was safe but now? Now she had a choice to make and it wasn’t one she had wanted to. She could go against her queen and save Cat or she could kill her and have to live with the fact that she had taken her god children’s mother away from them. The opposite of what her role as a god mother is supposes to be. Olivia clenched her fists and slowly reached for the blaster strapped to her back she drew it from it’s holster and swallowed hard. “You we never suppose to get hurt, that was the deal”

After all these years , after absolutely everything they’ve been through together , Catherine Grant had realized that she was now staring into the eyes of a SNAKE . Not only had Olivia ( so she calls herself ) lied through her teeth during the entire course of their relationship --- but she was now DAMNED AND DETERMINED to do whatever was necessary to please her majesty . And that means handing over National City and the people within in , defeating Supergirl , and … killing the other queen that posed as a threat . 

WHY DID SHE LET HERSELF FALL WHEN SHE WAS GUARANTEED TO ALWAYS GET BURNED ? ” Humans would be more open to the idea if people like you and your --- whatever she is --- didn’t come around , trying tearing things apart ! ” A huff sounded from her as lithe fingers curve into her palms ; knuckles white as fists were made . She knew Winslow was likely able to listen , that he was doing EVERYTHING in his power to get Supergirl , anyone , immediately . But Cat knew … the very second that weapon was raised directly at her --- IT’S TOO LATE . Tears leaked from her eyes as she swore she relieved every single memory that led up to this point , the good times and the bad .... FIGURES , SHE ALWAYS KNEW SHE’D GO OUT WITH A BANG . “ You hurt me the second you chose her over everything else . ” Pouted lips quivered --- doing her all to withhold the sob that was nearly bursting from her . She was terrified as the outcome grew clearer by the second . THIS WAS REAL . This was happening . “ I just hope you’re able to live with yourself once the deed is done . ” There would be no going back from this , no redemption . Only loss , only heartache , only ghosts to haunt her memory .                                                                                              JUST DO IT .

Alexander was pleased that Cat was impressed, from what Kara and Xaiver had told him about her this was no easy feat. He considered her question for a moment. Edge was a well connected man, but then again someone like the Amazon would fly under his radar (at least in his civilian identity)       “No Edge has never been to ANY of the fundraisers for my shelter back in New York, and I HIGHLY doubt he follows my work as a photographer.” he assures the media mogul.

GOOD , GOOD . That was very relieving to hear --- there’s no doubt that they could successfully ruin the guy’s day as long as they strategize and look before leaping into battle . So to speak , of course . Cat wasn’t one to ruffle up her pristine attire --- nor was she a fan of BLOOD on her designer heels . “ Okay , you have gained my attention --- THREE MINUTES . That’s what you have to tell me your plan and convince me to bring you along for THE RIDE . ”

“Oh, I will, trust me. Photographic memory.” He chuckled bit. As she laid her head on his chest, he couldn’t help but to kiss the top of it. “Well then, I guess I’ll have to change that then, won’t I?” Because he does want this to happen again. As they lay there, he wants her to relax and and stay as long as possible, so his fingers begin to lightly pad against her soft skin. 

Eyes fell closed right then and her breathing fell into a slow , soft rhythmic pattern as she listened to his heartbeat . It was a RARE FEAT to not be thinking about work , or CatCo , or the stress of dealing whatever chaos that was likely to ensue at any point that day . For the first time in a long while , Cat felt TRULY calm --- at peace . And she had Max to thank for that . “ I think I’ve seen a little change in you already , and it’s a change I rather approve of . “

She should have known better than to let Cat set the terms. She regretted asking what she could bribe her with as soon as she said it. “I don’t disapprove of all the politicians you like and I don’t disapprove Bill. He’s just….a bit much”

HMM . That answer was more mundane than she would’ve liked ; but she expected as much . Olivia was a KIND SOUL that hardly wanted to cause any trouble --- especially with the position she currently holds and THE SECRET she’s forced to keep . The blonde rolled her eyes before leaning into her ever so subtly --- appearing innocent to any and all onlookers in the crowd of people . 

“ Very well , but just to be clear ...There’s only ONE president I’d fool around with and it’s certainly not Hilldog’s hubby . ”

       shit. kara swallowed thickly, towel stilling as she turned to face HER DEAREST FRIEND. ❝ cat i… ❞ she shook her head. ❝ what was i supposed to say ? ‘surprise, i’m from another planet’ ? i didn’t want you to think i was CRAZY ! besides… ❞ she was trying her best to keep the tears down, but it wasn’t working. ❝ i just want to be normal. or as normal as i can be considering my planet is DEAD. ❞ and there it is. she never really talked about krypton, even with eliza. admitting what happened to cat made it hurt all over again. ❝ MY FAMILY IS DEAD, my people…everything i ever knew. this is my home now. so why…why does it MATTER ? ❞

It wasn’t OFTEN for Cat Grant to find herself at a loss of words , and it was even rarer for her to be questioning everything that led them up to this particular moment in time . Her business partner , her best friend , her --- KARA . She was Kryptonian ?! How did Cat miss it ? How did she not realize --- Jaw clenched as she forced a ROUGH SWALLOW , watching the fellow blonde closely whilst taking a step ( and then another ) forward . “ Because I trust you with my life , ” and so much more , “ --- but it took me having to almost die before showing me THIS SIDE of you . ” And that ... that told the media mogul that the trust was completely one-sided . Cat had so many questions , but the CLOSE CALL on top of this whole new revelation left her spent for energy . Shaking her head , her arms wrapped even tighter around herself before moving away to settle on her couch . “ Thank you for saving me --- I won’t breathe a word of what you are so you can remain as normal as you like . ”
