Pink and Grey

I wanted to talk about wedding outfits and looking at my wardrobe I came up with this. 

It is quite simple and almost like a starting point to what it can be. You can add a bow tie, instead of pants try a pair of grey shorts. You can also add black suspenders and really take it to the next level. <3

People often say I have a perfect androgynous appearance, and if you don’t look like this, you can’t be androgynous. This is very misleading. Being androgynous  doesn’t mean an ability to make up your face, dress sexy and pass as a girl, or to button up in a suit, frown and pass as a boy. Being androgynous is to identify and feel oneself nor man, neither woman, to see one’s purpose in anything besides reproduction, to deny the social game of seducing males and conquering females, which is common and imposed everywhere and even mandatory in some countries.

Androgyne has different views, goals, different attitude to traditions because he combines not only active and passive traits equally, but disapproves social dogmas relating to marriage, relationships and gender roles. He is not comfortable to put on on one of the centuries-publicized roles - female or male - they mean nothing to him. And that is why his inner world begins to manifest itself outwardly as a certain style of clothing, the overall appearance. Facial features, age and constitution mean NOTHING at all. These are your personal thoughts and images.

Velveteen jacket with elbow patches, classic shirt and checkered trousers - classic combination for nerd style. But you can adjust it with unusual and fancy details to make your inner geek more cool and trendy. I’ve chosen a bowtie covered with spiders and socks with Dia de los Muertes, and that was for purpose - both symbols have mythological connections to tricksters. Spider is Anansi, the trickster of African legends, and that nice flowery scull connects to South American hoodoo beliefs, Baron Samedi and his gorgeous wife. So I was able to emphasise my personality with these details. 

It’s odd but these random items made a perfect match in style and color. Flatform brogs correspond well to olive wayfarer-style glasses, and bright spots on socks and bowtie make the look complete. My geek image was so fresh and believable that when I’ve passed by one local technical college dorm, I got the very attention any nice school nerd has ;) Another one success in my lumpen society! And yes, that cool red cat on the back was also totally random.

Geek style is quite androgynous and for now is no longer given to boys only. Dress like that and you’ll become a smart, nice but strict little cutie in a moment, sparing you of masculinity or vulgar feminity.
