Writing Commissions

Hello all, my name's Jacobi, and I'd like to write for you! Yes, you! I'm a writer in college (majoring in creative writing), and I'd like to make a little cash on the side. So, below are the details. Examples of my writing can be found at the bottom of the post!

Prices

Drabbles or headcanons (<1000) - $5

Full fics (>1000) start at $10, adding $5 per every next thousand. (Example, 4k would cost $25)

Free verse poetry - $5

Verse/other structured poetry - $7

Rules

1. I can deny a commission when first given it. I know my limits as both a writer and person, so please trust me when I say I cannot and should not write all prompts.

2. Refunds are available anytime before I am complete with the commission. I will give you an update at the halfway point of the commission and you are free to check in as well.

3. To get the ball rolling, send me a message or an ask! I promise I don't bite! If you're shy you can send me an ask on anon to test the waters and ask whether your commission is something I can do.

4. Payment is to be given up front, unless it's a fic 3k+, in which case half of the payment is to be given up front and the second half can be sent after I complete the piece. I can receive payment on Venmo and PayPal.

5. Please don't repost and claim my writing as your own elsewhere (here, Ao3, etc). You have free use to repost it, but please credit me. Honestly, just don't claim it's yours somewhere I can see it. I don't care if you're giving it to someone in a letter or something.

What will I write?

• OCs, OCs x Character, Character x Charcter, and Character x Reader (of any gender identity)

• I will write NSFW, but I do need proof that you are also an adult (you can blur out the names and such, and have your username on paper in the picture). I am much more comfortable with smut than gore, but I will give gore a try.

• I will not write NSFW containing children in any context. I will not write inc*st.

• I write for many fandoms. Some include; Marvel, DC (especially the Batman Rogues gallery), The Magnus Archives, Spiderverse, Supernatural, Adventure time, Steven Universe, My Hero Academia, M*A*S*H*, Overwatch, Hannibal, Star Trek (TOS, TNG, Ds9), Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and many more. If you don't see something you like, you can ask me if I write for it, this is not an exhaustive list!

Changes in this part of the brain were previously used to previously used to argue that women are the ideal primary caretakers of children in all cases. And apparently, it’s false. The reason they found these changes in women was that women were already the primary caretaker in almost all cases, not because there’s something inherent to women that makes them better parents.

This is also big news for adoptive parents and queer couples! Many people try to argue that adoptive parents aren't real parents because of biology and blah blah blah. Bigots will also argue this case against queer people. So, to all my traditionalists: it's not science! It's bigotry and sexist!

Nurture Changes a Parent's Brain

The first few months of being a parent are a sensitive period.

This is why paid parental leave for all parents regardless of gender is so crucial. All parents need and deserve time to bond with their children. When only one parent is given parental leave, that parent is naturally going to have more time to develop a bond to that child than the parent who immediately goes back to work. This will, inevitably, create a lifelong imbalance in who does most, or all, of the childcare. Equal paid parental leave regardless of gender benefits all parents and all children.
