Since it’s Aquarius season, there’s no better start to our monthly updates than with a feature of our resident wet beast, the Aquis!
Aquis are agile, enigmatic companions, most often found splashing through the rivers and rainforests of Paragon. Their most striking features are their absorbent coats and delicate head tendrils, which retain moisture and help regulate their temperature—traits that once led travelers to mistake them for wandering river spirits. Able to breathe both above and below water, an Aquis will never pass up the opportunity for a swim. The Aquis share a bond with Paragon’s waters. While they are happy to travel or settle elsewhere, they must periodically revitalize themselves with water drawn from the city’s rivers or wells. Without this, an Aquis will grow sluggish and their dewy coat may dull. Naturally gifted gardeners, Aquis have a knack for coaxing life from even the most unlikely places, with aquatic plants being their specialty. Much like the rivers they hail from, Aquis are serene, strong, and inevitably just a little damp.
