while im on the subject... extremely niche but did anyone else get into assassins creed bc they studied it in a level media lol

because im still not done on the valhalla marketing....

ALL of the marketing i studied primarily depicts male eivor (including the actual cover for the game on xbox at least) and barely mentions the fact that you can play as female eivor... LET ALONE that she's who youre meant to play as (which is basically confirmed when u let the animus choose at the beginning)

its so irritating that in 2020 they still decided to market their game as viking boy club which is made more insidious by the fact that u (apparently (i saw this on a tumblr post so take w a grain of salt)) werent even supposed to be able to choose your gender in odyssey and valhalla but the studio pushed for still being able to play as a man.

because we still have to cater to fragile male gamers who cant handle the idea of being a woman in a game, EVEN THOUGH plenty of games with female protags INCLUDING old ac games where u play as a woman did well!

watching all the cinematic trailers for ac games... and damn they hate women.

like the the female assassins are relegated to spinoffs and non main games that dont get marketing and the games with 2 playable assassins (syndicate and origins) barely show evie and aya...

then we dont even get a cinematic trailer for odyssey (the first mainline game with a female protag) and when we finally get to valhalla the first cinematic is male eivor! (who is not the canonical version!!!)

and dont even get me started on all the promo and the covers for the games using the male characters for valhalla and odyssey despite that not being the canonical characters ur meant to play as.
