I'm a girl in my teens and a boy flirted with me for the first time. I've always been confident that I liked girls, but when it comes to boys, I’ve been like “well maybe.” But as he was flirting with me, I kept thinking about how we were really compatible and how we shared similar experiences and we got on well and how the conversation we were having was very meaningful and comforting… and how I didn't want to date him despite it all. Maybe it's just that I’m not attracted to him specifically, but it's like… more than that. It felt more than that. So… I guess I don't like boys. I don't know: it was one of those moments where you're like “if I ever wrote an autobiography, this moment would be in it” because it felt so defining.

Questioning culture is wanting your presentation each day to be a soup of masc amd fem and andro, but with varying degrees of each ingredient. And when the soup is wrong, it tastes bad, and when it's right, it tastes like the best goddamn thing to exist. But there's like a tiny margin of the right amount of each ingredient and it changes everyday, and nobody ever tells you the recipe, so unfortunately, for a large percentage of the time, the soup tastes shit. (My deepest apologies for that terrible metaphor)

Hi, good to see you back! I just wanted to say that since discovering this blog years ago, I’ve really become so much more comfortable with myself. I think I’ve really just decided that things are complicated and I’m allowed to change throughout my life. Maybe it was always like that and I just discovered it, maybe things really did change over time. In the end, what does it matter? There are people and things and actions that make me comfortable. I shouldn't be ashamed of experimenting with my identity; it's a natural things and the goal of the community should be to help to create these safe environments. You do this well and I have to thank you for that. I think I would also like to encourage this thinking in other as well—if there are people you know who are unsure, questioning, or experimenting, accept their chaos. Sometimes all people need is for people to validate their experiences.

I currently label as polygender, but I'm not sure that it fits quite right. From what I understand, polygender means identifying as multiple genders (which I do), but I feel like I'm simultaneously 100% of each gender I am, whereas with my understanding of polygender it's more that you're partly one gender, partly another, etc etc etc. Is there another term that fits better with how I identify? Or am I misinterpreting what polygender means? Sorry if this is hard to understand, by the way.

from what I know polygender can mean either of those things, as one version would be a combination of demigenders but maybe @polygender-advice can help you out better!

Hi! I’m currently questioning my gender. I feel feminine, but there’s a part of me that feels masculine. I mainly feel like a girl, I use she/her pronouns, and I don’t expérience dysphoria. But there’s a part of me that also likes to gender itself with masculine words (gendered language), that dresses masculine and that wishes it had masculine features. I really can’t understand it, it’s like 95% girl and 5% boy. I almost came out as trans when I was younger, but actually all I wanted was to have masculine feature, I didn’t really identify fully as a boy. I’m so lost, can you help me please?
