I love gorilla warfare because of Tom in the yellow suit again
Ooh, the episode with Grodd! I approve of your taste.
The suit is pretty great. Y’know, for a yellow supersuit, they actually made it look pretty freakin’ cool
Favourite flash episode?
Right now I have to say the last one that aired, “Flash Back.” A little light on Harry, but goddamn it was so good to see Eobard again. And Hartley!
“Alarming? Of course! We need to research this immediately! I have so many theories!” Ray rambled, his face going slack as he began to run through all the hypothetical universe study he’d done in his free time.
Harrison blinked. He might have found a like-minded individual to address the matter of the breaches. Garrick, at least, might appreciate the added help. “We’re dealing with breaches--small areas of connection between two different earths, that express themselves as subtle ripples in the fabric of reality. They’re all over Central.”
John was quite the sight, and he knew that. He couldn’t really blame someone for staring at him, and his remark was one of sarcasm more than anything else. The man behind him looked almost completely out of it, most probably from a lack of sleep, but he managed to come up with an answer nonetheless. John smirked and rolled his shoulders back a bit, correcting his posture.
“That’s a list I’d be interested in seeing.” He paid for his cigarettes and turned around fully to get a good look at the guy, who was very close to zombie status. Chills raced down his spine as he thought about Papa Midnight and his bizarre dead men walking about, doing his will. “You alright, mate?”
He’d moved out of the way, standing to the side as he pulled out a cigarette and placed it between his lips. The elderly woman began to protest about smoking in the store, but he waved it off, having no intention of lighting it just then. He pulled it free again. “You look like you just rose from the dead. Trust me, I’ve seen people do that, and it’s only marginally less pretty than you at the moment.”
Harrison didn’t know if he was meant to take that last statement literally or not. In a city full of metahumans and superheroics, theoretically anything was possible. But that could also just be a figure of speech, and likely it was just his exhaustion that was making him overthink this. He huffed, more amused than offended, and dropped the pretzel bags on the counter. “I’m not dead, so. Things aren’t as bad as they could be. I did remember to dress before I left my apartment.”
A pointed reference to the blonde’s current state of undress. And it wasn’t technically Harrison’s apartment that he’d left behind, but he didn’t find it necessary to explain the intricacies of his sleeping arrangements to a stranger. “At this time, you’re only marginally prettier than I, mate.” He could put accents and general colloquialisms under similarities between the two earths then, since that was a terribly British turn of phrase. “I assume that nobody in this part of town at this time of night is functioning at optimum capacity.”
Ask Cisco out on a date
No.
    –which one is Cisco?
“So that’s all, huh?” Jesse asked. “Well, it’ll be interesting to see who all we might find. So Mayor Snart isn’t the mayor? That’s kind of interesting. What does he do here?”Â
She accepted the water, and plate of food from her father before seating herself. Jesse waited for her father to sit across from her before she started to poke at her food. Her father hadn’t put much on her plate, but even the tiny amount seemed like too large a portion for her. The tears that she had sworn were done suddenly rose up and spilled over her cheeks. She had no idea why she was even crying about the over-cooked chicken.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Jesse said, wiping her cheeks. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. It looks fine. I’m fine. Really. Just…overly-emotional, I guess.”
Harrison was looking at her with concern, and she tried to wave him off as he stood, obviously intending to come to her. “No…please. I’m ok. I just need a little time to - to adjust. It’s just all so strange now.”
@quickwltted
“He wears a parka.” Harrison didn’t know what, exactly, Snart did on this earth, but he was certain it was not entirely legal. Despite that, the man had loaned him the cold gun, which had been key in freeing Jesse, so Harrison couldn’t condemn him.
Harrison wasn’t usually much of a conversationalist when he was eating, so he took a few bites in silence, forcing himself to eat to set an example for Jesse. He was too drained and too tense to have much of an appetite, but she needed to eat, and the best way to encourage that was to eat something for himself.
When Jesse started crying, however, he automatically dropped his fork and jumped to his feet. At her words, he hesitated; he didn’t move to her side, but he didn’t sit back down either. “It’s strange, but it’s good,” he said firmly, willing that to be true. “You’re safe.” He’ll repeat that as many times as she needs to hear it, but he knows from personal experience that it could be a long time yet before she’ll actually believe those words.
“You better not be joking right now.” Ray said, look of concern on his face. “If you’re seriously from another earth, that means my hypothesis was right! There are alternative worlds and universes! You have no idea how groundbreaking this is!” He rambled, his eyes darting about the room as ideas raced through his mind.
“I have some idea,” Harrison corrected, but without any bite in his tone. “I am seriously from another earth, one that’s leaking into yours. Groundbreaking and alarming phenomenon.”
Maybe Jay is going about this all wrong. Maybe it was just a nightmare – but if that was the case – he wouldn’t have been able to injure himself. “It didn’t start like that.” He offered the older male. Harrison has been the only person he’s opened up with about anything recently and that’s saying a lot. He’s gone from not trusting him to feeling he’s the only person besides Caitlin still on his side. “We were fighting. I brought this on myself.” Jay should have just kept his mouth shut, really. “I told him he was a monster who couldn’t even face me without his mask. He said I wasn’t capable of handling what was under the mask and you know? He was right.” He hated that Zoom’s been right about anything. “He called me brother right before he stabbed me in the chest.” But he hadn’t killed him. Zoom said he had plans for him. “When I first got here, I sought out my doppelganger, but there was no trace of a Jay Garrick on this Earth. Just a Hunter Zolomon and he was adopted.” But they shared a similar story. Their mother’s both died in childbirth. “I can’t find any traces of another baby, Harrison. If there was another baby, it’s possible Zoom erased all traces of him.” It would also mean Hunter was Zoom’s doppelganger, not his.
Harrison already knows that Zoom would and could operate on this earth, that the dark speedster has probably been looking for them. For his enemy, his escaped captive, and the man whose hubris had, apparently, created him. But there is a difference between knowing that Zoom wants them all dead, and seeing the evidence of it in Jay’s expression, in the obvious injuries he’s hiding under those clothes. As much as Harrison has relaxed his opinion on Jay Garrick, he is still a father first and foremost; his first thought is of Jesse, a wild impulse to race back home and check on her. He restrains himself, just barely, and concentrates on the other news Jay shares.
“Zoom’s name is Hunter Zolomon,” Harrison says slowly. “That’s... good to know, actually. That’s information we didn’t have before.” He takes a measure of Jay’s face, his rambling words. “So. We can’t find you on this earth, but we might find evidence of him on our earth. The more we learn, the better. Come back inside with me.” It isn’t in his nature to be gentle, his relationship with Jesse aside. It takes genuine effort to make his last sentence sound more coaxing than commanding, to cover his eagerness at learning more about Zoom.
Favorite month and why?
“Used to be December. Christmas. S.T.A.R. Labs was lively during the holidays, and Jesse was bright on Christmas morning. But this last December was difficult.”
Are you afraid of dying?
“Yes and no. I’m afraid of what would happen to Jesse if I died, but I would die for her.”
Tell us something weird that turns you on.
“...”
Favorite ice cream flavor?
“Strawberry, when I’m in the mood. I don’t have a strong sweet tooth.”
Have you ever been arrested?
“No.”
Would you consider speed dating?
“What does that mean? ...is that a speedster thing?”
Do you prefer blondes or brunettes?
“Does it matter? Hair is an entirely changeable feature of a person’s appearance. Personality is more stable.”
“I didn’t go picking a fight with him!” His words are louder than he means for them to be. Honestly, Jay is having a hard time keeping himself together. The images of Zoom pulling off his mask only to revolve a face similar to Jay’s will forever haunt him. The only difference seemed to be a minor change in hair style – but that may just be from him pulling off the mask. His hand moves to his chest again, fingertips tracing over the outline of claw marks. He needs to change the bandages again. “I’m not even healing right. What the hell is wrong with me?” He almost expects Harrison to have those answers. Or perhaps Jay is finally just losing his mind. When he says it’s possible, Jay frowns. That wasn’t the answer he wanted. “Yes.” He retorts, his head shaking. “I think I’m going to need a therapist.”
Jay nearly yells at him, and that’s the most he’s ever raised his voice around Harrison. The tick in Harrison’s jaw increases, and for a moment he thinks he’s about to be punched. But the only person Jay touches is himself, hand sliding over his own chest with a wince, and Harrison realizes that Zoom has added to those old claw marks. “You saw Zoom with his mask off?” Harrison asks, for clarification. “He looks like you? A doppelganger?” Which didn’t make any sense, not when the breaches only appeared long after Zoom was first active. It wasn’t any better a theory than twins separated at birth.
