daph … dont even get me started. since you sent it from both accounts , let me give you some love for either. so let’s start with forty , the gem that led me to you to begin with. you know my love isn’t complete without your forty. you honestly took a character who i was kind of iffy with and turned him into one of my absolute favourites. you do this for all your muses , but i’ve interacted with forty the most so i’ve seen just how deeply you analyze your muses. it makes them all feel so much more real than the shows could have ever made them. forty has so much depth to him and i felt like with every thread i got to see a different layer of him.

we haven’t written much on your elle just yet but from what we have , i can feel her through your writing. all i want to do is wrap her gently in a soft scarf and keep her safe !! i’ve always complimented you on how well you write dialogue but especially with elle. with forty he’s a man of one liners and known for his wit , but elle is such a quiet character that when you do write out her conversations i’m floored at how well you capture her. you’re going off very little in terms of what she says , but you’ve made it blossom into so much.

𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐀𝐍 𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐇𝐀𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐄  of dull voices in the background mingled with DNCE’S CAKE BY THE OCEAN, the third time this week that he’s had to show up to show face. he doesn’t appear to be paying attention, having stolen a corner from which to engage in today’s most palpable drug, the piece of technology in his hand with which we all chain ourselves to, LOST without communication, a narcissistic human desire to connect, but even now he can make out his name straying from foreign lips here, there, somewhere else behind him ( CORY ELLISON, yeah that’s him - UBA’s latest upgrade for entertainment, he’s YOUNG bit of an oddball, but have you SEEN his numbers ? ) .

does it bother him ?  people are predictable, and mysteries are just fodder for those who can’t find anything more interesting to stave their irrepressible fear of awkward silences than the weather. then again this is L.A. the weather he finds, might be an enjoyable topic if one deigns to be honest about it, and yet here we are. so no, it doesn’t bother him. in fact it’s kind of exciting, it just means he’ll have to dig harder, find that thing, that ONE spark that’ll ignite a whole generation — that’s his job, it’s why he’s gotten that spankin’ new TITLE, to give them something more to talk about than that weird guy at the network who’s newly taken over the helm of gratuitous visual storytelling.

                 forty     hadn’t    been    on    the    east    coast    since    college.        but    he    was    here    to    support    his    sister    talking    about    the    launch    of    a    new    cookbook   ,      a    fusion    of    french    cooking    for    the    environmentally     conscious.         there    isn’t    much    for    forty    to    do    but    wait    till    his    sister    is    interviewed   ,      not    wanting    to    bug    her    while    she    was    in    some    dressing    room    having    makeup    re  -   applied   ,       forty    waited    far    away    from    the    cameras    but    close    enough    to    view    once    his    sister    was    introduced.         as    per    his    usual    entertainment   ,             forty    had    greedily    googled    every    news    anchor   ,       going    through    tweets    from    five    years    ago   ,        looking    up    every    possible    connection    towards    somebody    he    knew   ,        &        just    doing    what    he    did    best       :       consuming    other    people’s    lives.          he    had    recognized    the    man    typing    away    on    his    phone   ,      cory    elton?      eaton?         something    like    that.      not    really    an    online    presence   beyond     press    releases    of    him    taking    over    UBA’s    entertainment    division       &        some    event    snapshots    of    him    with    the    news    anchors   ,          forty    was    left    a    little    perplexed    by    the    man    before    him..        most    people    would    assume    that    this    changing    of    the    guard    wasn’t    a    big    deal    but    as    forty    knew    thanks    to    his    own    industry   ,        this    was    a    big    fucking    deal    and    meant    something.        ever    the    friendly    and    sometimes    annoying    presence   ,      forty    decided    to    see    what    was   up.  

         ❝        no    worries   man  ,    totally.      ❞       forty    lifted    his    shoulders    nonchalantly   ,       the    californian    way    of    saying    everything    is    all    good    ,       nothing    bothers    us   ,    take   your fucking    time.          the    fast    paced    crazed    undercurrent    of    every    new    yorker    was    something    foreign    to    the    man    unless    he    was    ingesting    numerous    substances        into       his    system    to    create    the    fever    in    which    the   new    yorkers    barreled    down    the    streets    in    overcoats    and    high   heels   ,       a    scowl    always    permanently    creased    onto    their    faces.       a   quiet    scoff    of    laughter    rumbled    from    the    man,         agreeing    with    cory’s    statement    and    nodding    accordingly.      ❝       hah  ,    right.     oh    no  ,     i’m    not     -----       who   is    that?       ❞         dark    brows    furrowed    in    confusion    matching    the    man    before    him.       ❝        nah   ,     i’m    forty    quinn.      my    sister    love,      she’s    the    one    with    the   cookbook    that   alex   is    interviewing….   ❞        he    trailed     off   ,       gesturing    with    a    tilt    of    his    head    backwards    towards    the    set    as    his    sister    was    walking    down    the    hallway    while    a    chair   was   being    placed    during    a    commercial    break    on    the    stage    where    she    was    going    to    be   interviewed.      ❝       just    wanted    to    say    congratulations.        heard    about    your    big    move    up.     that’s    a    pretty   big    deal   ,     right?        the    network    really    must    need    a    push    towards    better    ratings    or    are    they    trying    to    pull    a    FREEFORM    change?        ❞        he    mused    aloud    with    a    polite    smile.          he    probably could    find    out    this    information    through    articles    or    through    people’s    own    opinionated    comments    online   ,       but    it    was    better    to    go   towards    the    source.            it’s    not    like    he    was    going    to    hang    around    new    york    for    more     than    a    week    and    if    he    embarrassed    himself?          oh    well   ,       that    was    typical.
