Aokaze Lounge, Genko Chaya This is my favorite build.  I wanted to make a lounge area for the mercenary group Llinos contracts with, the Eight Winds.  It has a small reading nook for the academics of the group, as well as a job board. More importantly, it’s a place where the Eight Winds can bring their clients (the lounge is exclusively for their use).  The idea was that ICly, Llinos would have told Wemrys he needed a place to entertain his clients and that it should look classy enough to show that the Eight Winds are a  high-end commodity apart from your standard rag-tag bunch of mercenaries.  At the same time, she’d want to include touches of Wem’s warrior persona…just with a hint of polish. It was very fun to make this room because I got to design it based on a character’s aesthetic.  Or rather, how MY character saw his aesthetic and how she would smooth out the edges. When designing this I knew I wanted a dark interior as the character favors darker colors for most of their attire.  He’s got black hair with dark blue tips, so I knew those were the colors I was going to incorporate the most and darker wood.  I knew I was going to incorporate some raw elements, like stone, fire, fur and leather - things I think of when I think of warrior with the fire of their ‘inner beasts,’ will of stone and the leather armor that gets incorporated into their artifact gear.  I also wanted to play homage to his Limsa and Doma roots, his love of a good pint of ale, and his colorful patchwork bandana.  I was really happy that the kimono rack had JUST the right colors for that. One Fine Day in the Past

“C’mon Pirate! I know you’re better than this!”

Loffrey just wouldn’t keep quiet as he watched Wemrys and Gustav spar. The pair of hyur, one a midlander and the other a highlander, in a deadlock in their skills. Wemrys could guard with his lantern shield and attempt a counter all day, but Gustav was a spearman and could attack from just outside of the range of Wemrys’ wicked, deep blue broadsword. 

Even if the Lominsian Free Paladin made an attempt to charge in with his shield, Gustav would just dance backward or even expertly plant the tip of his spear into the ground and use it to lever himself backward a greater distance then Wem’s charge. If the Ul’dahn lancer decided to go on the offensive he’d find every attack easily turned aside by Wemrys’ skill with the shield and the broadsword ready to poke in if he pushed too hard. A frustrating situation for both men, especially since they had been at it for the better part of the last quarter of a bell.

Wemrys had an advantage though, every for every three movements Gustav had to make, he only made one or perhaps two with his less mobile fighting style. His opponent would tire. Eventually. 

“Let’s go, Gustav! You ain’t gonna let Wemrys win this time are you? I doubt you want to be paying his tab. Push him harder!” Their duskwight compatriot gave an amused laugh as he tried to push both sides of the fight. Being a thaumaturge he wasn’t quite as capable of following every single movement of the fight, Wemrys knew, but that never stopped him from being boisterous.

“Loffrey, I would rather they not kill eachother, stop egging them on so harshly,” The voice belonged to Wemrys’ best friend in their party, the midlander conjurer Cletienne. The Paladin got along well enough with the others but Cletienne was someone far different from the other two. While Gustav was their party lead and tried to be valiant he was prone to falling into the same japes as Wemrys and Loffrey. In comparison, the conjurer seemed out of place with his more reserved and caring demeanor shown toward his companions. This made him far easier to talk to which made he and Wemrys grow more closely tied as friends. Something the other two teased them about given how “it was classic for a frontliner and a healer to have a better rapport.”

Despite his words when Cletienne looked back toward the fight as there was another clash of steel, Wemrys batting aside another blow from Gustav, he gave a silent pump of his fist in support of the Lominsian. “Come on now, my friend. You have him…” He muttered which only made Loffrey give another of his guffaws.

Wemrys could see it now. Gustav was tiring. The last deflection was one the lancer had recovered from far more slowly. His opportunity had arrived and Wemrys immediately acted upon it. After deflecting the spear to one side, he brought his sword down upon it further rattling the spearman’s arm and bringing the weapon low and into a position not easily counter from. He then gave a quick step forward, his sword arm’s elbow up to try and bash it into Gustav’s chin.

The Lominsian saw the grin on Gustav’s face before anything else. He’d been baited. Gustav dropped the spear and caught Wemrys’ elbow with one hand, instead stepping in to knee the Lominsian in the gut. Wemrys doubled over as the breath was driven out of him and Gustav quickly grabbed his spear and pointed the tip of it at Wemrys. 

“Yield, Pirate.” The highlander said with a grin. 

“Two outta three.” Came Wemrys’ Lominsian drawl, a set of words that caused Loffrey to guffaw once again, Cletienne to groan, and Gustav to grin all the wider.

This event focuses heavily on spiritual experience. There will be ceremonies, blessings, banishments, divination, and other magickal nuances. But, more than that, it has a focus on honoring those who have been lost and reconnecting with those loved but gone. We will do our best to make sure that you get the ghastly experience you’re looking for.

An OOC Note

I know I haven’t been keeping up with the prompts and I apologize for that for anyone who started following me due to them! I have a full time job in IT and it’s got a 24/7 support structure so I often end up working long hours to meet deadlines or perform deployments. As such I only get a certain amount of hours each night after that plus an hour long commute I currently have into the office. I will most certainly be posting more prompts as I make time to write them, but I just wanted to explain that. In the mean time I realize I have some new followers so I just wanted to say hi and if you were interested in getting in touch with me or learning more about my character, feel free to throw me some asks! I will respond as quickly as I can. I’ll even do some of those ask posts soon to facilitate that if nobody has specific questions.
