“I missed you so much, Pond. I don’t understand how or why you’re here but you are and for so long you haven’t been… I don’t understand.”

"I don't know much more than you do in this situation." She sighs. "But like I said before, I don't see myself leaving anytime soon."

“Why wouldn’t I be?”

"I just thought I came back rather sudden."

“Confused because you don’t know how you got here? Is that it?”

"Partially. It's nice that you're so welcoming though."

“Then I’m afraid I don’t understand, Amelia.”

"I don't believe that I really understand it myself. I'm happy to see you, but I'm confused as well. Maybe the confusion will pass."

“Why?” He asked, curiously, studying her face. “You’re not happy to see me?”

"Course I'm happy to see you! I missed you, it's only natural."

“S’pose you’re right,” she replied quietly, taking it in context for herself and Amy. How was Amy different because the Doctor had met Rose before her, she wondered? Had she made any difference at all?

She couldn’t help a small laugh at that, even in her hesitant state. “That must’ve been murder,” she sympathized, a small smile flashing over her lips. “Once, when I was travelin’ with him, he brought me back a whole year later than I was meant to be. Twelve hours, he tells me. Twelve months, more like!”

"Oh, it was horrid." A joking smile appears on her face. She couldn't help but wonder how Rose's relationship with the Doctor had been. Was it anything like her own? "Sure doesn't take much for time and space to get jumbled."

He sighs with his eyes darting about her features like he’s trying to figure her out. “Talk to me Amy. Be honest, tell me what’s wrong.”

"Oh, I don't know. Conflicted emotions? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to feel right now." She wasn't nearly as sad as she thought she should have been.

“Hey.” He hooked his finger under her chin and lifted her head gently, looking into her eyes with a half smile, “No more sad faces, eh? Amelia?”

"No more sad faces," she confirms, her voice a mumble. "I'm not even entirely sad. I'm a lot of different things, actually. Mainly shaken."
