It didn’t rain too often in Hong Kong, at least not during the winter. But today it did, catching the city off guard and bringing it to standstill. Kei sat at an uncovered bus stop not far from her school, having only her hoodie to protect herself and her belongings from the rain that poured on her. As she waited, she pulled out her phone and checked the time. Assuming it wasn’t late already from the rain flooding the streets, which it probably was, it was still another 20 minutes until her bus got here. Kei slipped her phone back into her pocket, and held her belongings tight as she continued to wait for the bus.

Kei wished she could have taken the metro or even a cab home by now. Even if it was a little more expensive, she would have been able to get home a little faster and it would be better than this. It was a shame her mother only gave her enough to pay for the bus home, sometimes she wondered if she’d be better off walking home. She thought about it, just for a moment, but decided trying to walk home in this weather would be worse than getting drenched while waiting for the bus. And so Kei just waited, hoping that the bus would at least arrive on time.

Quimary floated near the other, not only feeling awkward because the rain didn't touch her, but also because her human counterpart was someone she already knew, even if they didn't talk all that much and they've never actually met. Heck, the measly fact that she had to watch over someone was nerve-wracking.

She was unsure on how to tell her the news. Does she just outright blurt it out? Say some ice breaker? After thinking of a few ideas, she decided to just say whatever came into mind.

"Sorry that I can't really help you with the rain and all," Quimary said as she floated in front of the other. "Being a guardian angel -- and by the way I'm your guardian angel -- has its limitations," she said, pointing a finger up to the clouds then shoving both of her hands into her pockets. "Or at least, I don't have any idea if I can do anything to help physically."
