A/N: sorry this is a short and i got a bit selfish with it- i am currently sick and took this as a little treat for myself.. i hope u enjoy despite that!

Kusakabe's eyebrows furrow as you cough once more, taking in the uncomfortable grimace plastered on your heated face.
"You're gonna get sick, Atsuya," Your voice croaks, raw from the coughing and congestion that's kept you in bed for the second day straight, "Plus you've got to look out for your students too."
A cold pack is slapped lightly against your forehead, causing your face to scrunch up more. "Don't be an idiot," Your partner chides softly, his large hands feeling cool against your skin as he puts the temperature regulator on your head properly, "You should've told me you were sick." You can hear the worry aching through his faux-scolding tone, see the softness in his eyes as he gazes down at you.
Another flurry of coughs interrupt any response you had in mind, a groan following in suite at the ache it brought to your chest, "This sucks, Atsuya." Your partner thought it was endearing, the slight whine your tone carried on his name, the way your hand shifted towards him for comfort, "Can't I just get better already."
Kusakabe laughs lightly, his hand moving to smooth your hair out of your eyes, his thumb paying close attention to the space between your brows, "Maybe if you had told me right away," he murmurs. It warmed his heart, in a way, seeing you rely on him so steadily. It wasn't often he got to care for you like this, and though he wanted your health to return soon he couldn't help but appreciate the time he could spend nursing you back to health.
Your soft grumbling brought him back to the present, the way you half heartedly tugged at the blankets surrounding you. Another huffed laugh leaves him, his head shaking slightly as he moves to pull the blankets up further around your shoulders, “You can rely on me, dummy.”
Once more you groan against his soft hearted scolding, letting yourself settle further into the nest of pillows and blankets you’ve created.
After tucking each corner beneath your shoulder, intent on making you as cozy as he could, your partner’s hand moves to your cheek, thumbing again at the warm skin. He watches your eyes slowly flutter shut, your exhaustion getting the better of you, quite literally falling asleep in the palm of his hand.
Tutting softly, Kusakabe couldn’t help but relish in the way your head leaned against his palm as he held his hand steady. He remained at your side, sitting comfortably on the edge of your bed, not daring to move until he was sure the drowsy effects of the cold medicine kicked in. Once your breathing evens out, a smile graces his lips with a sigh.
Moving to leave your room, though not before pressing a soft kiss to your overheated temple, he’s as careful as can be shutting the door behind him.
