nothing unexpected in here (did laugh at the detective saying they need to personally come out and thank every officer, and it’s telling and should be illustrative to fans that they’re extremely concerned about terrorism). with that said this should make people relax about the disruption

People will really be like, “I’m not a fan of Taylor Swift but here’s how I think she should live her life! And if she lives it any other way then that’s shocking and weird to me. Very out of character for who I invented in my head!”

I also think many people (including fans sadly enough) resent that they can't shame Taylor out of her personality. That no matter how many times they call her cringe or a loser or tone deaf or tell her they hate something, she doesn't try to make herself smaller or quieter anymore. It makes me think again of how she said she/celebrities are a mirror for how people feel about themselves. And I think it makes people resentful when someone who is simultaneously the most famous (and criticized) woman in the world and someone they feel personally superior to (in taste or personality or cool factor or whatever else), does not care at all about clean girl/quiet luxury/etcetc tiktok trends. And that forces them to acknowledge that they care a lot about what the internet tells them to like or dislike and that's not very nonchalant above-it-all cool girl of them!

this is the home of the girl they want to get married in a beige castle or a boring private island btw like god forbid a girl want something iconic and full of WHIMSY (and mind you. this was a bro bachelor pad and she made it into this dreamy eclectic home)

and you know what’s funny? there’s just so much classism in the choices people want her to make and in the choices her and joe made back then. like she used to pretty exclusively go to private rooms at restaurants, member’s only clubs, and sit in private boxes at plays.

with travis, they occasionally do that, but 9/10 times they go to restaurants that normies can go to and sit in the audience with the normies at plays and shows. like i don’t think people realize that to have the sort of life that they think is sooooooo private and classy, they’d pretty much never see real people. and this is a big way that wealthy people become out of touch!!!!

and you know what? if i say that the idea of having her wedding at a place that is famous in sports and music history AND is a place she dreamed of playing as a kid AND is a place nobody else will have their wedding at because they’re not her (aka instantly giving her an iconic and unrepeatable wedding) was a part of it too, y’all would be mad at me.

it’s not just the privacy and security. that’s a big part of it!! but that’s what so many fans are clinging to because they resent the implication that taylor likes being famous, and likes her position in the world. it’s also about what it represents in terms of what she and travis have been chasing all their lives in their respective fields, and her hard-earned legacy as one of the biggest artists of all time.

I wonder if these “the taylor who wrote the lakes wouldn’t have her wedding at msg🤧” people have considered that MSG might as well be the lakes, no hunters with cell phones will be able to get anywhere near it. Not to mention, “A red rose grew up out of ice frozen ground with no one around to tweet it” when your wedding is a no phones event with a garden theme—at a venue literally nicknamed the garden that also hosts hockey games—is also quite fitting! 😊
