a/n: Not proofread. Fucking love this game (perhaps a bit too much).
Main Masterlist
Itâs night out, Y/N stands in the lamp lighted bedroom, staring out the window overlooking the front garden. She can hear the crickets chirping outside and the fireflies are in full bloom in the darkened night. Sheâs already dressed herself in her white nightgown, the material soft on her skin.Â
Though she stood in the house she shared with her husband, her mind wandered back in time when she met him for the very first time. It had been in Defense Against the Dark Arts Class, learning to duel with an opponent, and the words âTime for a proper Hogwarts welcomeâ caused a soft chuckle to slip past her lips.Â
Even though he sounded overconfident, his words made her giddy with excitement and then sheâd won. She had surprised herself when she managed to pull that off. And when he walked up to her she was expecting a snarky remark or perhaps a nasty comment but heâd said, âYou give as good as you get.â He also smirked playfully at her before walking away and she couldnât deny the way his words caused a flurry of warmth to rush to her cheeks back then.Â
As soon as theyâd met, she knew she was done for.Â
Again a laugh escaped her and without her knowledge her husband had come back to their bedroom, fresh from his bath. Sebastian stared lovingly as he watched his beautiful wife laugh quietly to herself.Â
Throwing the towel he just used to dry his hair onto a nearby chair, he silently approached his wife from behind and when he was close enough to gently wrap his arms around her waist she didnât flinch or jump away, instead she pressed her back against his chest as she melted into his warmth.Â
âWhat are you laughing about?â Sebastian asked, pressing a delicate kiss to the back of her neck.Â
She smiled in return, âI was just thinking about the first time we met.âÂ
Sebastian hummed back at her answer, pressing several other kisses into her skin. âMmhm, we met in Defense Against the Dark Arts class, we dueled each other, remember?âÂ
Sebastian scoffed, âHow could I forget the moment I met the most beautiful woman Iâve ever seen?âÂ
This caused both of them to laugh at the playful comment before Y/N continued. âI remember you walking up to me, saying âTime for a proper Hogwarts welcome,â very confident of you I must say.âÂ
âWell I had a reputation to uphold.â Sebastian reasoned.Â
This time Y/N scoffed. âYeah, and as I recall I swept that reputation right from underneath you.âÂ
âThat wouldnât be the last time I was underneath you.âÂ
Y/N gasped then slapped him on the arm, causing him to burrow into her neck once more with a laugh. âDonât be so crude, I was reminiscing about school.â
âOkay, okay, Iâm sorry, darling.â Sebastian half-heartedly apologized although he meant no such thing.Â
There was a pause as the two of them listened to the crickets outside, both taking a deep breath and feeling each other decompress in their exhale.Â
âI didnât realize it then, but that was the start of so many things.â Y/N uttered fondly, oblivious to Sebastianâs sudden frown.Â
âThe start of so many mistakes.â Sebastian spoke softly, almost repeating Y/Nâs exact words.
Only turning her head, Y/N stared up at Sebastian as she observed his expression. âDon't do that to yourself.âÂ
He couldnât help but to shake his head. âI canât help thinking about it all. The desperation, the anger, the betrayal; I wished we had met in different circumstances then perhaps our fifth year together might have been normal.â
âSebastianâŚâ Y/N huffed, the makings of a smirk spreading across her lips. âI was entering Hogwarts for the first time as a fifth year student who could see traces of an ancient magic, who would complete these trails created by wizards from long ago to see their memories and ended up fighting a goblin turned dragon before the year ended.âÂ
Sebastian looked down to see his wife smirking. âRegardless of how we met, our fifth year was never going to be normal.âÂ
Just like that the dark thoughts whirling in were cast away by Y/Nâs light hearted humor, and it didnât hurt that she was absolutely correct.Â
He let out a deep root laugh, nuzzling into Y/Nâs neck once more and began to gently sway her in his arms. âI suppose youâre right, darling. And I believe that even if my situation hadnât been what it was, we wouldâve met eventually anyhow.âÂ
Y/N pulled away a bit only to turn to face him while still in his embrace, her arms coming up to wrap around his neck. âCall it fate. Someone had to keep an eye on you.â
âWell Iâm glad to have had your company, Mrs. Sallow, even if it was to keep me out of trouble.âÂ
âTo be fair, I didnât do a very good job at it.âÂ
Tightening his hold around her back, he pressed Y/N further into his chest. âTrue. Probably wasnât the wisest to send the ancient magic prodigy to babysit a no good scoundrel.â
He said it like it was a joke, but the regret quickly filling his eyes didnât fool Y/N. Her expression fell into that of compassion and without thinking, she brought her hand up to softly caress the underside of his jaw.Â
âHey now..â The words barely a whisper as she spoke. âI love you and despite it all, Iâm glad that I met you. Iâve never had any regrets about that so you shouldnât either.â
âI love you too.â Was all he said then leaned in to plant a tender kiss to Y/Nâs lips. First it was the soft, overly gentle kiss that most new couples share in moments of vulnerability but seamlessly turned deeper, passionate. The heat of lust rising within and fanning the flames of love that survived the hardships promised to every living being.Â
Their hands began to wander over the familiar plane of their partner, taking note of the thumping heartbeat and the sudden warmth enveloping the skin. They continued this memorized dance for several more seconds, pulling away only when the need to air outweighed the need for the other. A light panting exchanged between the two when Y/Nâs eyes had left Sebastianâs for just a moment to stare at the bed.Â
âThe sheetsâŚâ She breathlessly uttered.Â
His brow furrowed slightly. âWhat about them?â
She looked back at him. âTheyâre new.â
âAnd?â
Y/N brought her hands to seductively fiddle with the two tops buttons of Sebastainâs nightshirt, only to finally unbutton them completely. âAnnnd,â she let the word roll on her tongue for longer than necessary, âI think that itâs time that we break them in, see how they hold up.â
She could almost see the ways his eyes darkened at the promiscuous suggestion though he chuckled despite the heat growing in his groin. âGood idea, darling, itâs best we make good use of the new house. See what we can get away with.â
Sebastian had let his hand drift from her back over the plump flesh of her bottom, giving her rear a small squeeze and suddenly lowering his hands to the back of her thighs to lift her up into the air. Y/N let out a gasp at the motion with a sweet giggle bursting from her throat right after as she instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her towards their bed. She gave him a few pecks on lips, continuing to do so even as her back was lowered to the plush material of the mattress.Â
For the remainder of the evening, Y/N and Sebastian got lost in each otherâs touch; not sure where one ended and the other began. And into the late hours of the night, Y/N couldnât help reminiscing on how much her life had changed.Â
Through all the pain, the battles, the injuries, and broken hearts, Y/N would always be thankful that she met the trouble making fifth year: Sebastian Sallow, a good friend and the love of her life.
i have to believe somewhere, someone is trying a taco for the first time. someone is taking their first shower. someone is coming home to a new puppy.
i have to believe that this winter, someone new to snow will pull out a 5 dollar plastic sled and throw themselves down a hill, just to try it.
i think i'm probably lucky to be familiar with sunrises. i live in an area where the lightning bugs dance in their cocktail hours. i take chickadees for granted.
today i saw a tree that had changed to fall colors, and my first reaction was to grimace. i love autumn, but i hate the cold. i don't want it to be winter yet.
but how lucky, to live in a place where the leaves do change color - so bright and vibrant that people make treks from around the world just to look at what i grew-up-with. my mom's friend was a teacher in florida. she used to ask us to mail her an assortment of leaves, just to show her children - to prove to them yes, they really do turn yellow and orange and red.
last year i finally tried pumpkin spice for the first time. someone this year will find a new favorite knitting pattern. someone's favorite band will drop a new album. artists will make things we haven't yet imagined. there will be chalk drawings and magnet poetry and karaoke and recipes and laughing.
it is easy to forget. this was all new to me, once. and when it was - well, it was just all so easy to love.
summary: you were a part of hellfire long before your brother and his friends got to high school, yet they fit right into the club while you get pushed aside.Â
requested: no
word count: 6.4k
warnings: light angst, jealousy, brief arguing/raised voices, lots of fluff, kissing, fake gagging, few curse words
a/n: i apparently canât write short fics for eddie, but i donât think anyone is complaining about it. plus, i think the fics are freaking adorable & iâm highkey kinda proud of them. so i hope you continue enjoying them, as iâve got plenty of ideas for him with more coming daily. if youâve got an idea youâd like done (for eddie or any other st character) feel free to send it my way & iâll give it a go. also, i couldnât think of a better title than this, but the actual fic has no purposeful inpsiration from the olivia rodrigo song. i hope you enjoy it regardless! Xx
You groan as you see your brother and his friends make their way through the cafeteria towards you. Knowing it was their first day of high school, you had no doubt theyâd try to sit with you. Itâs not that you donât want them to, but youâre terrified that theyâll embarrass you in front of your long-standing crush and dungeon master.
It had been a few months into your freshman year of high school when the small group of friends youâd found yourself in started ranting about how weird and creepy the Hellfire club - and their leader, Eddie Munson - was. You didnât quite hold the same opinions, though, since youâd been playing the game for a few years by then. In fact, you had only recently given it up when the friend you played with moved towns.
Look, Iâll be real, a part me is really glad that this website is going to be somewhat revitalized by the inevitable migration of Twitter refugees post-Elon purchase. Staff has been doing great! Tumblr deserves an active userbase because this website fucks harder than any other social media bar none! It is unequivocally the best social experience online!
But oh my sweet Lord god in heaven help me the existential terror of having Twitter slither in here to promote its normalization of persistent social abuse, its puritanical means-testing of surface level ideological commitment, and its disgustingly narcissistic perpetuation of pervasive cultural pessimism is a genuine nightmare that I am not prepared to deal with.
Like, Tumblr has a such a unique and rare method of social interaction that disincentives the kind of low-effort, low-stakes (until itâs suddenly not) engagement that runs wild on Twitter. Beyond all odds, Tumblrâs culture of artful shitposting mixed with thoughtful consideration has SOMEHOW managed to survive the whitewashing of the internet. Weâre a living fossil in a fragile ecosystem. Twitter is an obliterate of any positive subculture; it panders exclusively to the lowest common denominator of online engagement, and then further feeds that into a toxic mentality of enabling the weaponization of internet clout. Itâs a race to the bottom where the loser wins. You canât get clout on Tumblr because engagement has largely been anonymized, and the userbase in general has deliberately fostered a culture of not giving a shit about being popular. Follower counts here do not matter. And that is a good thing â that is something we should want to protect and encourage.
And donât get me wrong, Tumblr is built on the fundamental lowbrow. We all appreciate being crass, being strange, being âunmarketable.â But this is Shakespearean lowbrow at its core. Itâs shitposting painted by Picasso way more often than it is shitposting sold as a fucking NFT. Our reverence for quality stupid actually contributes positively and uniquely to engagement (most of the time), and that feeds into even more positive and unique engagement as users reblog and add their own contributions to the post. Retweeting something will just never have that effect.
I cannot remember the number of dumb, one-off jokes Iâve seen reblogged into beautiful efforts of collective poetry. Iâve seen posts asking if Ezra Pound and T.S Elliot fucked like rabid animals turned into significant contributions of literary analysis for their respective works. Iâve seen the stupidest fucking takes morphed into powerful pieces of social commentary by people who cared enough to contribute their time, their effort to do so: to create something worthwhile. That one post about the value of gold and silver in the post-apocalypse comes to mind. Like, thatâs the kind of thing that could never have survived, much less become prominent and valued, on Twitter. It would sink to the bottom there and never resurface: digital echoes that promise something special, something worthwhile, but are fundamentally wasted and buried in the chaotic din of scramblingly awful takes.Â
I guess Iâm just saying that I donât want that to happen here. I like Tumblr, and I want Tumblr to prosper, but not at the expense of all the things that make it wonderful in the first place.
More than anything else, Youngkyun tries his best to be protective of you whenever heâs affectionate with you, especially when the two of you are out in public, heâll hardly let you go away from his side.
B â´ BOYS
Despite being one of the youngest, that didnât stop Youngkyun from laying down some ground rules with the boys before meeting you. He wanted them on their best behaviour to make sure that you were impressed, the last thing that Youngkyun wanted was for the eight of them to end up scaring you off.
C â´ COMFORT
Although he doesnât always have the answer to try and cheer you up when you need comforting, Youngkyun will at least always be beside you. Heâs nervous a lot of the time, which is rare for him, he doesnât want to put a foot wrong when you need supporting, so everything that he does will be cautious and steady.
D â´ DOMESTICATED
Heâs definitely not afraid to get stuck in and being domesticated at home with you, not letting you do everything yourself. You rely on Youngkyun quite a lot when it comes to the more masculine jobs around the house, ones that require a bit of strength, jobs that Youngkyun is more than happy to do. He never backs away from doing anything, if itâs something new, heâll research before getting stuck in with it.
E â´ ENGAGEMENT
Not a single person had the slightest clue that Youngkyun was planning on proposing to you until after you were engaged, with even the boys kept out of the loop. They couldnât believe that Youngkyun hadnât told you what he was planning, even you were surprised that he hadnât at least confided in Chanhee at any point about something, but Youngkyun wanted to surprise not just you, but everyone.
F â´ FAVOURITE THING
Youngkyunâs favourite thing about being with you was that he truly felt as if he had a best friend in you. The two of you were quite often inseparable, if your friends invited one of you out, then they knew to invite the other too. Although he wasnât always necessarily a people person, around you, Youngkyun couldnât help but want you there with him, right by his side, as often as you possibly could be.
G â´ GOING OUT
Both of you preferred to stay in a lot more then you wanted to go out. You werenât ones for massive crowds or busy places, instead you enjoyed the peace and quiet of your own home, without having anyone else around, you could just enjoy an often rare chance to just be with each other, without interruptions.
H â´ HONEYMOON
The two of you were pretty unbothered by your honeymoon if you were honest, no place or activity really leapt out at either of you as something that you wanted to do, and so in the end you booked based on what seemed to be advertised a lot, trusting that it was all advertised for good reasons and not bad ones.
I â´ âI LOVE YOUâ
Telling you that he loved you was one of the rare things that Youngkyun did that often left him feeling shy. He couldnât help but avoid your gaze when he told you, not only so that he could try and block his blushed cheeks from you, but also because he knew that if he took one look at your smile, he would go weak at the knees.
J â´ JEALOUSY
It was pretty apparent to anyone when Youngkyun was feeling jealous, his stare would be incredibly cold which very quickly sent a message across. Quite often heâd have his arms folded across his chest too to let whoever was irritating him know that he was far from impressed. As soon as he was able to, heâd right back by your side in order to keep you protected again, sending a clear message to everyone else too.
K â´ KIDS
The two of you both agreed pretty much as soon as you got married that starting a family was something that you still considered to be a little way off for you both. Despite a little bit of pressure from your families, you remained firm and knew that you would settle down only when the two of you felt ready to.
itâs just a bit before midnight, but the silence jooyeon is met by as he enters the apartment is more extended than usual, the kind that almost feels noisy in the ears. itâs almost entirely dark, the dimmed lights of the kitchen hood and a faint shine from the living room just barely finding the hallway. your name slips off his tongue, quietly just in case youâd already gone to sleep and like suspected, thereâs no response.
carefully as to not cause any buzz, jooyeon gets rid of his jacket and shoes. a heavy breath escapes him as he makes his way towards the bedroom but once inside, the exhaust of a full dayâs practice written over his face is replaced by a confused pout. he lets out another outcall of your name, this time a bit louder but yet again, thereâs nothing.
leaning the case of his bass against a wall, he quickly gets changed into more comfortable clothes before heading outside again. he begins his search for you, through the hallway making sure whether the bathroom is occupied or not - confirming the latter, he continues into the kitchen. youâre not there either and thus, he walks towards his last guess after turning the lights of the kitchen hood off.
indeed, youâre in the living room.
the sight has jooyeon smiling; the television is on but running on a nearly inaudible volume; on the coffee table stands an only half-full cup of tea and next to it burns a candle radiating the scent of cinnamon; the calm flame casts warm illumination over your features as you lie curled up on the sofa, a blanket wrapped around you; the snores leaving you are close to inaudible, lips parted, your calm expression showing how deep into a slumber youâve fallen.
âhow often haven't I told you to not wait for me?â jooyeon sighs, though mostly for himself. he turns the television off before briefly disappearing from the room to put away the tea youâd never finished, now cold. upon returning, he mutters he blows the candle out, leaving the moonlight outside as the only source of light in the room.
ây/n,â he softly says and rests his palm against your cheek. when you donât even, he calls out again and lightly taps his thumb against your skin. the lack of response makes him feel bad for trying to wake you up but he knows itâs better than letting you be. âwake up, youâll catch a cold if you sleep out here.â
a few seconds pass until you finally respond with a low hum, eyebrows momentarily knitting and soon enough, youâre looking up at jooyeon, hovered above you, your tired eyes locking with his own, slightly gleaming in the reflection of the moon.
âyouâre home?â you mumble, barely awake. you stretch your arms out but rather than letting them sink again, they fold around his neck.
jooyeon smiles while chuckling through his nose. âdonât stay up until Iâm back next time,â he comments, going on as he wraps his own arms around your frame to help you sit up, âand donât forget to blow out the candle either.â
not appreciating his parent-like complaints as soon as you wake up, you respond with a whine of mild annoyance and bury your face into his stomach. you donât make it to stay like that more than a few moments though as he holds your cheeks in his hands again to guide you looking up at him again.
âcome on,â jooyeon speaks in a mere whisper before leaning down; placing a kiss to your forehead, the cologne youâve come to grow so fond of mixes with the lingering scent of cinnamon. the sigh of content is one you simply canât hold back and even as he parts, you can still make out the small but loving smile on his lips through the dark,
itâs so frustrating (and heartbreaking) to see so many writers going on indefinite hiatus / deleting their blogs because they are not motivated to write anymore. worst of all: people would always be like âno why are you leaving we donât want you to do so :(â but they were nowhere to be seen in our notifications beforehand. the lack of support on this platform is a huge issue and itâs a shame that content consumers donât get the hint when writers have been waving the red flag for months.
please support creators by rebbloging their posts, interact with them by leaving a few tags, a comment or an ask! if youâre too shy then hit that anon button and youâre good to go. show them that their works matter and you enjoy their blog, because when the decision to leave is made, itâs already too late.
Normally I'm not one to add my two cents to a post but I think this has inadvertently stumbled into exactly the reason why readers aren't getting engagement: because their audiences are not communities and don't see themselves as such, but 'content consumers'.
Writers and artists create because they are compelled to, but they share because they want to engage with the community. When we approach their works with the emptiness of the term 'content' that so characterizes the commercial media landscape, we devalue the work and intentions of writers and artists.
Yes, comment! Yes, reblog! Yes, support! Because as a reader and audience member you are a vital part of the community! I think there is this sense that you are only valued if you share your creative efforts, and only then can your voice be appreciated, and that simply not true! Audience, we love and appreciate you because we share for you! You are a part of the community too!
My life is a ridiculous joke. I wish I was kidding when I say that I broke my toe stubbing it on a copy of The Mortal Instruments City of Bones that was sitting in front of my bookshelf cause I hadn't managed to put it back up yet....but I can't and it sucks lol
thatâs super random of me but iâve been thinking lately how creating fan-art is considered âcringeâ by some people while most of classic art is just a fan-art of The BibleâŚ?
Modern fandom went awry when people stopped learning how to avoid content that upsets them and instead starting actively seeking it out.
I mean this in the kindest, most loving way possible, but babes you'll be so much happy when you stop focusing on what other people are doing and instead focus on what you like.
You'll never be able to stop people from liking what you hate, and the best way you'll find any peace of mind is properly utilizing blocking, blacklisting, and muting tools. Take it from someone who used to run a shipping discourse blog, fandom is supposed to be what you enjoy, stop focusing on things that upset you.
