Moments that make me glad Japanese is a pro-drop language

Ten no Koe: Masuda-san, you answered in a questionnaire that ‘Sho and Jun are good friends in private.’

*everyone freezes except for Jun who becomes restless in his seat*

Jun: Me? *cannot believe that a kouhai had just outed his and Sho’s relationship on national television and thus looks to Sho for support*

Note: Listen to Kan-P’s (or at least I think it’s him) laugh here. He was SO amused.

Sho: What’s that supposed mean? *probably not believing that his official stalker would actually do this to him either*

Massu: The questionnaire asks for ‘What kind of relationship do you have with Arashi?’ So I wrote that I privately meet up with Sho and Jun a fair bit.

tldr: Massu meant to say ‘Sho and Jun are good friends (with me) in private’ but due to the nature of the language that allows you to drop things out, it allows for interesting misunderstandings even for native speakers.
