I feel like my family isn’t happy for me getting my own place. I understand their concerns ; the neighborhood isn’t GREAT but it’s not “I’m going to get shot on my porch” bad, they’re worried about me financially. I get it. I make 3.5 times more than this rent costs a month now with my new, better job. And I want a second job just because where I am has more opportunities.

They haven’t asked to see pictures of it, to come see it IRL, if I need anything.... nothing. This is the most excited I’ve been in a while because I can actually afford it now. They told me for years this small town life wasn’t for me and I need to spread my wings. leaping off the nest and they are no where to be found.

But now if this was either one of my brothers— immediate help and excitement
