↳ During high school Rachel was not the most popular, she was bullied but so she pushed through, knowing high school was not the rest of her life. After graduating WMHS she was accepted in NYADA. She moved to NYC and at first she struggled, it took her a while to get used to the big city after coming from little Lima, Ohio. Getting settle at college was also a shock to her, but eventually she found her place in both the city and school. By sophomore year, she had made friends, had a new boyfriend and was thriving.
↳ During junior and senior year of college she got a few small roles in small off-off- Broadway productions, but it wasn’t until the late in her senior year when she landed a role in a successful off- Broadway play. While she wasn’t the lead her role was a supporting one with good exposure. It landed her an agent and that lead to more opportunities. So by the time she graduated college she had a good resume with a couple of promising opportunities.
↳ Her big break came a few months after graduating, she landed the role of Elphaba’s understudy in a new Wicked revival. And luck would have it that some big shot director came to the show one of the nights she was on stage. This director offered her a lead role in a brand new play he was preparing, it was Off- Broadway but it would be the lead role, in a character she would be originating. And so Rachel Berry was casting as Wendla Bergman in the new play Spring Awakening.
↳ Spring Awakening was a hit, it was very controversial at first, the subjects the play touched were raw and heavy, but after the initial shock wore off the critics were ravishing. The play became a most see and soon made it to Broadway. Rachel stayed in the role of Wendla for the next 2-3 years.
↳ While her career was blooming, her personal life was not as successful. Her dads had gone through a rough patch and almost gotten divorced, which weighed heavily on Rach as she was caught in the middle. Her love life wasn’t much better either, she loves her job and through herself in it. That cause a lot of frictions between her and her boyfriends and more than once lead to a break up. She realized how true the say ‘It’s lonely at the top’ was.
↳ 6 months ago her contract with Spring Awakening ended and Rachel decided she wanted a change. So she talked to her agent and got a few options settle for her in L.A. and she recently made the move to the sunny California. Life in L.A. was very different from NYC. Everything from the climate to the pace of life was completely different from what she was used to. Now she was back to going to auditions, this time for t.v. producers, and see what life will bring.
