As many of you already know, Live365, with the help of dozens of other industry leaders, is sponsoring an unprecedented, completely virtual and completely free, conference for the audio industry called World Audio Day, which will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2020. This day will feature 15 different panels composed of over 40 industry professionals donating their time in the name of education and information sharing. The entire thing is being hosted via Zoom from the comfort of everyone’s homes and is open to the public for no cost at all.
Ace Hartmann, owner and operator of Racketeer Radio, has been asked to host a special hour on Live365s World Audio Day from 2pm EST / 11am PST presenting your Classic Favorites of the 30s and 40s as well as his personal favorites to showcase Racketeer Radio. Tune into the special, one day event, Tuesday April 21 2020.
At Live365 (and our parent company Media Creek), we are very passionate about the audio community in its many forms. Within our team, we have broadcasters, podcasters, production engineers, and essentially all forms of audiophiles. So the audio industry and community isn’t just our business, it’s an extension of our family.
So, for several months we have been kicking around the idea of hosting a free virtual event to give back to the community. The goal of this event would be to bring all ends of audio into one awesome event of information sharing. We had started down the path and were willing to embark on the challenge of hosting an unprecedented virtual conference, hoping to plan it for sometime later in 2020.
The ensuing COVID-19 pandemic created a new normal for us all and forced the cancellation of all in-person conferences for the time being. This included the largest annual gathering for the audio industry - the NAB Show - who was forced to cancel this year’s event set to take place in late April.
With everything happening in the world, it was clear that the audio community needed an event that brought everyone together now more than ever. So we started to expedite the process to put something together as quickly as humanly possible. On April 3rd, we announced World Audio Day would be coming and we rushed to solve the many logistical challenges to organize a complete virtual event in 1 months time.
It’s been a frantic few weeks attempting to execute this event in such a short period of time. We have been overwhelmed with the support we have gotten from the industry. Dozens of business and industry leaders have stepped up to volunteer their time to join us for panels and help with the event. And the initial response from the community has been fantastically positive.
With that being said, please keep in mind that hosting a completely virtual event for the community is a relatively new concept, so there may be a few kinks along the way. For instance, panelists may run into internet issues or family distractions, there may be minor technical difficulties or issues with the quality of the video, and there is a 99.99% chance that someone’s dog will bark during an event throughout the day. Please bear with us through those minor challenges of hosting a completely virtual, multi-panel event
I hope you’ll join us on Tuesday, April 21 and help us turn World Audio Day into something very special for the Audio community. We’ve quickly set up a website where you can register for the main event area - WorldAudioDay.com - and we will be updating this website throughout the duration of the event and leading up to it. This event is completely free of charge and totally virtual, so all you need is your computer or cell phone to watch it. In addition to Zoom, we will be broadcasting
Live365 is the easiest way to create an online radio station and discover hundreds of stations from every style of music and talk.
The Puppini Sisters team up with The Pasadena Roof Orchestra this time around for ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’, which will be released in April!
“We have always wanted to record a Big Band Swing album and a chance reunion in Poland back in 2018 affirmed in our minds that there was only ever going to be one Big Band we could do a project like this with The Pasadena Roof Orchestra!
For this ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’, we arranged each song to match an iconic dance such as the Cha Cha Cha, the Foxtrot and of course the Lindy Hop. “ The Pupini Sisters said on their website. Get all the details and pre order ‘Dance, Dance, Dance’ at www.thepuppinisisters.com/

Musicians around the US are losing most or all of our income to the Coronavirus outbreak. It may be months before our lives and incomes return to normal. Meanwhile our friends and fans are stuck at home as well and could use some great music to lift their spirits! So I'm bringing together some of the US's top jazz musicians to record a "remote album" to generate some income to help us get through this difficult time!
What's a "remote album?" Usually jazz albums are recorded with all the musicians in a studio, all recording together. But since we can't gather in one place due to the outbreak, each musician on the album is going to record their part at home and then I'll put them together in my home studio. It's a very difficult way to record, so I've brought together an all-star group of musicians whose experience and talent are necessary to make a project of this nature a success!
The Melody That Follows Me (Words and Music by Glenn Crytzer)
Lucky Devil (Words and Music by Jason Jurzak)
I Wish I Hadn't Forgotten (Words and Music by Bria Skonberg)
My Daddy Rocks Me (Words and Music by J. Berni Barbour)
Blame It On the Blues (Music by Doc Cooke)
The 5 song digital EP will be "pay what you want" to help raise money for these musicians to pay their rents, bills, and buy food over the next few months! Everyone who contributes will get a copy!
Donate to support Glenn Crytzer, Bria Skonberg, Josh Collazo, Evan Christopher, Jason Jurzak, and Chloe Feoranzo making a "remote" EP to mak
Here is more information and a statement from Glenn Crytzer:
“Dear friends: I have an exciting announcement!
Due to the Coronavirus I've lost all my work for the next several months. I'm just sitting around my apartment for the next 2-3 months while this blows over and I wanted to find a way to make some music that will hopefully help people through this difficult time!
So, I'm recording a "Remote EP." What does that mean exactly? Usually when you record a jazz album, everyone gets together in the studio and plays the music together. The nature of jazz is that we all hear what the other musicians are doing, live and in the moment, and respond to it in our own playing.
But since the virus is preventing us from congregating, we're going to do something unusual for jazz: we're each going to record our individual parts for this EP in our home studios and then put it all together! This will require top notch musicianship from players who know the music so well that they can anticipate what the other musicians will do without hearing them play.
Fortunately I've brought together an ALL STAR cast of musicians from NYC, SO-CAL, and NOLA to make this EP!
The line up for the recording is Bria Skonberg, trumpet; Evan Christopher, clarinet; Chloe Feoranzo, saxes; Glenn Crytzer, guitar; Ben Paterson, piano; Jason Jurzak, bass; and Josh Collazo, drums.
I've just finished the arrangements and we'll be recording this in our home studios over the next couple of weeks.
In the meantime, we are taking pre-orders for the 5-song EP!
All the money brought in, after we cover our costs, is being split between the 7 musicians on the album to help pay our rent and bills while we are out of work for the next few months. The EP is "pay what you want" so whether you can afford to give $1, $10, $100 or $1000, to help these musicians out, we greatly appreciate you and we hope our music will help lift your spirits during the next few months.”

Today, March 20, 2020 Candy Jacket Jazz Band release a 23 song live album
“LIVE!” is exactly that. Live music from the Candy Jacket Jazz Band. Recorded over two shows at Strutter’s Ball and one performance at Inspiration Weekend 2020.
This album features the original compositions that the band is known for, as well as the music of Duke Ellington, Cootie Williams, Johnny Hodges, Barney Bigard, Al Cooper & The Savoy Sultans, and Charlie Parker.
The proceeds of this album will be split between all band members to help with the unfortunate loss of work due to COVID-19. We truly appreciate your support in these trying times.
