ethubs rpf is so funny because they act like that online and then bdubs logs off to his wife and kids and etho logs off in silence in his empty house with nothing and no one
it's pretty simple: if etho is saying something nice to bdubs, it's psychological torture toward him, and if etho is saying something mean to him, it's flirting. however if etho says something nice on video when bdubs is not present in the scene it's actually nice, and doubly so if it's explicitly or implicitly to bdubs-the-video-watcher. if he's insulting bdubs when bdubs is not present it's an in-joke that everyone else is ignoring while he chuckles to himself bc nobody else pays enough attention to notice when it's funny. which if you think about it is kind of the purest ethubs bc it's kind of for nobody but etho himself.
canon-accurate ethubs petplay where bdubs agrees to try it out and etho goes through a whole scene of like bringing home his new pet and bdubs is embarrassed and super turned on bc no matter how self-conscious he is he likes when etho's bossy. and etho's like okay now Wait Here. implying if bdubs is good he'll get a reward, so like maybe bdubs is into this whole deal. except etho leaves to go to the shopping district real quick and then doc stops him to pick his brain and complain abt shenanigans happening and so he has to take the long way home and remembers he didn't get the logs he'd gone for so he just uses his own farm anyway instead of risking another detour and anyway like four hours in he realizes he has basically done the equivalent of leaving bdubs alone in a hot car & bdubs hasn't even messaged him so he runs back and bdubs has faked his death with a little note that says something like "BdoubleO was killed by NEGLECT!!!" and etho can't help pointing out over chat that that is not even how the death message would work and also you can't die of starvation in four hours bdubs. and then it devolves into a convoluted game where bdubs is now pretending to be the ghost of his pets come to haunt him and frankly their attempts to talk through are SO BAD, like just really badly acted porn dialogue, with bdubs sticking to the Role Play and etho trying to make up for genuinely fucking up by powering thru this game of pretend so they can at least get off bc he was kind of looking forward to making time for sex given how busy/absent they both can be. they give it two more shots of etho being a bad "pet" owner before they give up and try it the other way

These are kind of just a combination of all the various headmates, sonas, representations, whatever else that I&'ve come up with in the past. There's more I& could add but I& felt these were the closest to canon (except for Win who is a reference to a roleplay). It's kind of ironic how well Manifold works as a collective name for them, too.
Thunder the Wolf is an idea I& came up with a long time ago, and I& mentioned the reasoning for having a wolf in there in the recent Antfrost post. This specific design I& originally intended to use as my& fursona, but I&'ve quickly adopted her as a representation for the red side. He was the most active during the early days of the SMP. Later on, she was still around, but no longer hosted.
Manibot is kind of a generic design. I&'ve added a TV head because. well. JackManifoldTV. Subtle nod, I& know. Not much to say here, just wouldn't be right to leave Manibot out.
Him and Thunder co-fronted together a lot, and could be vaguely assigned to red and blue respectively based on arbitrary criteria, and so they frequently refer to each other with just "Red" or "Blue". None of them have any idea that Red and Blue can be any of like three separate people, and this is where the "elaborate categorization" I& mentioned in tags comes in, which I&'ll elaborate on later.
Manifork, as the short blurb says, was just the result of projecting sentience onto a trident so hard that she just introjected. She's labelled as blue because she would technically qualify, but in practice it basically never gets mistaken for anyone else. Manifold just thinks it's an external presence rather than internal. It sometimes has an alternate gijinka form, but she is also still a trident.
Jackpot is a fun one! They're actually very active and one of the main suggesters of bad ideas around. Mostly though he's just there to have fun by gambling and drinking. Might potentially be where they got the name "Jack" from in the first place.
They're based on Jackie Womanifold, a drag persona I& made for a Minecraft roleplay, who is in turn based on a combination of Jack's Name Your Price furcoat outfit and the iconic Coraline wig.

Michael Clifford is based on the stream where Jack Manifold managed to get him onto the server and gave him a tour. Me& and the other mods like to headcanon him as an angel who came down from heaven when he saw that Manifold needed help, but a common interpretation is that he was a figment of Manifold's imagination. So it felt only fitting to add him to the roster as well. He basically only fronted once or twice as a comforting presence and hasn't been seen around since then. Presumed dead in a ditch
And finally, Win is another reference to the aformentioned roleplay. In there, he formed when Manifold got locked up in a cell for trying to interrupt the opening of Wilbur's nation by faking a suicide to change the trajectory of his life forever. After being locked away, Manifold wanted to "become a new person" to improve and be let out, which. Well. I& guess in a way he did. Unfortunately for him, Sapnap and Quackity were in call, and his idea of an "improved person" is basically an alpha wolf sigma gigachad. Or The Joker from the hit movie Joker. So the guy is just a mess of a combination of awful role models. On the actual canonical DSMP itself, I& imagine Win would be the one that mainly started the New Manifoldland and did Breaking Bad roleplay.
The categorization is just straight up based on my& own identity ongoings, except for Manifold is less aware of how bullshit it all is. The colours are assigned arbitrarily based on vibes, but generally red corresponds to active and blue to passive, or to mania and depression if you subscribe to the bipolar Manifold headcanon. There's also an attempt at ensuring "duals" which. Ok you know what I& cannot coherently explain this one it's just a projection of some bullshit. I& guess you can describe it as making sure there's a matching red to every blue and the reverse. It's not very successful though

The thing about smallidarity rpf is that there's only so much, and so long, that you can joke about being in love with your homie and kissing your homie before you start realising that maybe you're a bit in love with him and maybe you enjoy those photos of you together about to kiss or standing really close a bit too much and calling him babe becomes too natural and you reach for his hand without even thinking and stare at him from the distance and suddenly you go to your wife and ask her if she's open to a poly relationship and she smiles and calls your homie's gf to tell her she owes her 20 quid because they were betting this whole time on who would crack first and she shows you the fanfiction she was writing about you and tells you to have fun
