If you say “I’m a woman because I dress and act feminine” you are saying “A woman is defined by being feminine. A women must be feminine”. Which is the exact same thing conservatives and misogynists have been saying since the dawn of (patriarchal) time. “A woman is an adult human female” is the least offensive, the least sexist way to describe a women. It doesn’t tell her what she has to wear, how to behave, how to cut her hair. It just states the material reality of her existence. “A woman is everyone who acts like a stereotype that’s about being submissive and caring and wears dresses and makeup” is the most offensive and sexist way to describe a woman. Because it doesn’t allow for a woman to just BE. By this definition a woman has to perform to be a woman.
People on this site be like:
*posts radfem/"TERF" talking point*
"Radfems/"TERFs" DNI!"
Like...that's you!
And if that is you, that's okay!
no offence but literally no one gives a fuck if you don’t feel included, sometimes certain spaces need to practice exclusion, this is not oppression and if it makes you feel invalidated then that’s a personal problem you must deal with
things you need to be included in - voting, representation in local and federal legislature.
Things you need access to - public goods and services, education, health services
Thing that you are on your own to find or make - friends, social groups, sexual partners, special interest groups
for those who seem to have forgotten what human rights actually are. (hint: they don’t include sex)
I think you have to devalue women’s bodies a lot to be cool with plastic surgery. you have to think our labia and breasts don’t matter to think they are optional and removable. I think there’s a lot of unexamined deep womanhating going on with how we excuse these surgeries when we would never be okay with elective ear or toe removal
sexual repression of women by religious conservatives is a long-standing form of female oppression. however, the solution is not the oversexualized image of women that pop culture promotes. a woman is not a man’s private or public property.
So uhmmmmmm Twitter die challenge??
TERFs do way worse than this every day. They murder and harrass trans people, and sometimes even drive them to suicide or self harm. They’re constantly sending hate messages to trans people who are just minding their own business. Yet the minute anyone speaks up and says THEY’RE in the wrong or THEY should die, Twitter suspends their account.
idk how the suspension process even goes, did some shitty little TERF report me?? Or was Twitter going through my tweets a day after I posted Miku art and went “hmm. FUCK trans rights.” and smash the motherfucking suspend button???
Anyway, since Twitter is a carbonated cockwaffle drenched in TERF sweat, I’ll say it on here. -clears throat-
FUCK TERFs, FUCK everything they stand for, and go EAT YOUR OWN ASSHOLE if you disagree. ♥️♥️♥️
yeah guys can confirm i personally murder trans women :(((( like i just love killing them :((( do it all the time :((
all jokes aside though, send me a link to a case where a terf has murdered a trans woman and i’ll take you seriously, but for now i’m going to laugh at you and send a screenshot of this to my friends so they can laugh at it too!
i think OP is mixing up "deranged murderer" and "radical feminist" again! terfs aren't the ones killing people and many are actually quite sympathetic to trans people's feelings of gender disillusionment. (except the answer is to abolish gender, not reinforce sexist stereotypes, but that's beside the point.)
please remember that the last two letters of terf stand for "radical feminist". the people [probably men based on statistics] who present a physical danger to transgender people are almost certainly not feminists at all.
I may eventually create a new account to move this to a primary blog because already I'm starting to realize that I want to be able to follow accounts back 😬
wild how like PCOS, endometriosis, vaginismus & hell, even frequent yeast infections are “mysterious” with no well known cause and little to no decent treatment, but we have tons of supposedly well researched body fat removal methods, about 20 different kinds of breast implants, laser hair removal, and 100 different dermatologist recommended anti aging creams. we sure had the money and brainpower to cure those “diseases”
Madrid, IWD 2019 - “To say that women have the right to sell is to hide that men have the right to buy them.”
not to flex but I have two x chromosomes
it's always a good day to appreciate our bodies + our womanhood but even more so on international women's day!

watching Vanessa Vokey's videos is actually SO eye-opening and affirming of my thoughts and feelings that it's like a breath of fresh air. she's funny (and sometimes a little mean) but it seems like she really does her best to seek out factual sources and not to resort to the ad hominem that can unfortunately be prevalent in the movement. she seriously is such a devoted defendant of everyone's right to dress, act, speak how they want WITHOUT the insane pressure to conform to and reinforce sexist stereotypes and language.
Its back up! It was removed for a few days, share share share!!!!
Watch, rate, and SUBSCRIBE to her channel! She's amazing.
SL's description of post surgery feelings in this video hurt my heart
That was really good! I really liked how informative and factual it was. If you watch and like it please go upvote because the video is very unfairly ratio’d. I also wanted to mention how hypocritical the whole “the number of detransitioners is really small so they are insignificant anyway” argument is when trans people are literally like >2%* of the population and yet we have to treat them their needs are more important than literally everyone’s. But then they turn around and say these other people’s feelings and needs are just ‘irrelevant’ because they’re a 'miniscule’ group? Uh wtf. (*there are seemingly more nowadays because of trenders but they’re still a very small percentage)
I really hate the whole “this surgery makes you more like the other sex” argument that TRAs love to use.
You’re telling men who’ve had to have their testicles/penis removed for any reason that they’re less of a man now.
You’re telling women who’ve had their uterus/ovaries/vagina/breasts removed for any reason that they’re less of a woman now.
Fuck off.
It’s such a nasty thing to say. They don’t care about normal men and women because they feel entitled to being considered the opposite sex at any cost. Your feelings don’t matter if they are inconvenient to their ideology.
Removing parts of your body doesn’t make you less that sex.
Exactly. It does not make you less one sex nor does it make you more like the other.
Why are the burdens of the trans movement placed on women? I see women tripping over themselves to lift up and support the trans movement, expending time and emotional energy but why? Women are already expected to do emotional labor in the workplace, in classrooms, in their homes to sooth male egos and make sure everything runs smoothly and according to the status quo (don’t make waves, don’t speak out too loudly, be polite, you catch more flies) and on top of that now we are responsible for teaching men how to adorn the trappings of femininity (chains that they put on for fun) and complimenting them for it and building a platform for them on our backs so they can drown out our voices? Of course we want freedom and liberation for everyone, of course we want everyone to live lives unhaunted by the spectre of male violence, but do not demand of us what is already forcibly taken. Do not act like our unwillingness to acquiesce to our own subjugation is a moral failing. It is strength, and it is hard won and will not be given up easily.
Do not act like our unwillingness to acquiesce to our own subjugation is a moral failing.
(From seventeen magazine)
Our youth deserve so much better than this trans cult nonsense. The queer one especially breaks my heart.
I really haven’t seen any trans girls/women talk about “becoming a woman” or “feeling like a woman” without equating it to wearing makeup, dresses, &/or heels.
The juxtaposition of these is amazing. The issue in both cases is gender stereotypes, but it’s interesting the way it manifests in males/females differently, and perfectly reflects what I’ve seen directly from tumblr in the recent months/years. The dmab is attracted to men and is feminine so they identify as a straight girl. The dfab doesn’t feel they have (deserve?) access to the male identity so they settle for obscuring themselves as much as possible. Also, “I didn’t recognize gender stereotypes and roles as being accurate for me or anyone else” and “I’m confused by these rules society has for us” are good lines. Compare that to “exploring my feminine side with makeup and fashion” and the issue becomes so transparent.
“Now I’m a normal teen girl.”
See, as a “girl,” he doesn’t have to be gay or feel unusual for being feminine. And what makes him feel he has become “normal” is what makes teen girls like myself or the girl here who calls herself “queer” feel that we are not normal, and that we must identify ourselves as something other than a girl to reserve that label for performers of femininity.
