cons: i have to Focking share the cuban missile crisis with someone else pros: she seems really nice and i get to focus on soviet sources & perspectives
U kno what is the worst? When people are talking abt ur Special Interest in an incredibly incorrect way and u wanna scream bc u know everything abt this subject and they know nothing
ME ANY TIME ANYONE TALKS ABOUT SOVIET HISTORY & ESPECIALLY KHRUSHCHEV & HIS ERA
You know, the Richard Spencer getting punched thing has made it VERY clear which groups of people I’m not actually safe around, if push comes to shove. People who had SAID that they’d defend Jewish people, or even promised that, if shit hit the fan, they’d hide me, have said that this was inexcusable, and now I’m not wasting emotional energy on them. Because they won’t.
If you think you’d have hidden Jews during the Holocaust, but think that punching Richard Spencer was “inexcusable,” then you’re kidding yourself.
I encourage everyone to reblog this!
still, pretty cool to know that whilst the far right is organising across borders to influence elections the left is arguing with idiot liberals for the millionth time about why it’s ok to punch nazis
2020 baby!

hopefully my classes aren't quite as boring today bc i am so tired
charles xavier on anon: as someone who is personally on magnetos side, i wonder if we’re a little hard on charles xavier like, he only wants what’s best for the community and he’s doing his best ://
Hey how much longer do you think it is before trump bans any sort of online free speech that is derogatory to him by citing the “clear and present danger” free speech restrictions of world war one, by saying that everyone who slightly criticizes him online is in cahoots with ISIS or something. anyone wanna place bets i’m saying a year inÂ
can’t wait for the day i’m tried in the court of law for reblogging/posting anti-trump sentiments and the prosecutors are forced to wade through this garbage pile of a blog and have to see my drawing of garfield gently lapping at hanzo’s nipple and then use it as evidence that i am a degenerate
It is SO annoying when people go “har har har Islam isn’t a race.” Yeah, Islam isn’t a race, I’m not gonna argue that it is. But I know what you’re saying when you say you hate Muslims. You’re not imagining white, blonde, pale people– you’re imaging brown and black people. You’re imaging POC. And since the average person in the West seems to equate Muslim with Arab, you’re also probably thinking of an Arab.Â
Islamophobia is racialized. Yes, if you say you hate Muslims, I’m going to assume you’re racist. Fucking deal.
Additionally, the fact that Middle Eastern and South & Southeast Asian Hindus, Sikhs and Christians also experience Islamophobic hate crimes (and I’ve even heard of Arab-looking Latinx people experiencing them) shows that Islamophobia is racialized.Â
Autism is NOT a bad word
Autism is not a death sentence. Autism is not the end of your child’s future. Autism is not a tragedy or a curse. Autism does not mean lesser or worse. Autism does not need to be whispered in shame.
this post is going to sound corny and over the top tumblr angry™ especially given the format but please take me a little bit seriously: when 43+ bomb threats have been called in to synagogues, JCCs, and religious schools in a mere two week period irl, when people were planning an armed march against jewish people existing in a town, when nazis are having a field day out there since the election, and a self proclaimed antisemite is nominated to be chief strategist, when I have seen jewish personhood casually debated on news channels that aren’t even Fox or some shit, when WWII antisemitic rhetoric is getting repeated by politicians verbatim in speeches, and everyone has to hear nazi germany coded language about the jewish media conspiracy every day, all of the above means jewish people probably do not have any more patience to listen to people on tumblr opening their mouths on judaism in any way when they should not be.Â
if you are not jewish and you feel entitled enough to do the following (these are all things I’ve seen in the past month done by various relatively popular non jewish bloggers)….
define ethnic, cultural, and/or religious judaism and make yourself the authority on those lines
police/judge how jews with complex jewish identities talk about and interact with those identities (mixed ethnic jews, ethnic jews with complicated or no religious background, jewish adoptees, patrilineal jews, jewish converts, secular jews, jews who recently found out about their jewishness, etc)Â
make posts mocking how jews word their experiences about their jewishness
cast judgement on whether or not a jew “looks” ethnic or religious enough to face antisemitism
decry someone for punching a neonazi in the face
use the unjust situation in palestine as an excuse to condone bomb threats buildings full of jewish people including children have been gettingÂ
use jews as political props in general or reduce our issues to one political issue
insert yourself into a situation where a jew is calling another jew on something and deciding to use the jew who behaved badly as a reason to make posts about how you’re “uncomfortable with jews”Â
tell jews how we can and cannot use words in jewish languagesÂ
congrats, you now owe your local antifa $$$. also, the unfollow button is pretty noticeable, please make use of it. you don’t get to benefit from hearing and reblogging my thoughts, emotions, or jokes at this time if you’re going to act those ways. (those things should never be acceptable but especially under the current climate, if you needed any incentive to knock it the fuck off now is the time)
@fenhound hey thanks for reblogging this. this isn’t a huge deal, but jsyk “I’m goyim” sounds really weird as a tag because for one, “goyim” means “non jews”, plural, (goy is singular) so you’re saying “I’m non jews (multiple)” which makes grammatically no sense and shows that you are just kinda throwing one hebrew/yiddish word into your vernacular without really understanding what it means or how it works. which wouldn’t be a big deal except for the use of jewish languages is stigmatized.Â
like it’s just a little awkward when non jewish people with no connection to jewish languages who normally don’t use hebrew / yiddish slang or casualties in their speech suddenly start doing so with this one word on this one site. especially when it’s a term in a jewish language meant to describe from a jewish perspective “people who are not part of our background or religion”, so it doesn’t make sense if you say it.Â
this ask I got a while back kinda sums it up
again it’s not a huge deal since most people doing this don’t know any of the above info, but it feels awkward and rubs me the wrong way especially when jews get made fun of for speaking jewish languages / blends of them with english, even when we actually know what we’re doing speaking them.
like I speak fragmented yiddish and hebrew, I know that “goy” is a noun, “goyim” is a plural noun, and “goyische” is an adjective, but I still get made fun of for using any of those words, and have people who have no familiarity with jewish languages telling me all sorts of made up shit about why those words apparently sound ugly or weird or problematic. and jewish people who don’t know their own languages are still mocked for them, or alienated for not knowing them. it’s a weird double standard and the politics of assimilation and diaspora and jewish language are complex. meanwhile non jews who have no idea what they’re doing with jewish languages start using it randomly without taking any time to understand how the word works, and don’t get made fun of.
I hope that makes sense! you are certainly allowed to learn more about jewish languages but this kind of sporadic incorrect usage comes off as awkward that’s all. you can always just say “I’m not jewish” or “I’m a gentile” if you feel the need to tag that way at all, which I don’t think is necessary but you can do what you want. thank u again for sharing my post.
i don’t even have the first clue what to do about taxes and when deadlines are & all that shit, i have some form but i didn’t access it online fast enough so now they’re mailing a physical copy to my home address which is like.......what will i do with that. i don’t know what any of this shit means even remotely

All the links from the White House website are gone, but the Affordable Care Act is still in effect, and you can sign up for health insurance until January 31.
Trump and his cronies may want to kill it, but that takes time (especially now that key players are waffling and the insurance industry have noticed that it will rain chaos down upon them). So sign yourself up. Get in a free checkup, a round of antibiotics, a birth control implant, while you have the chance.
If anyone needs help applying, ping me.
TodavĂa puede inscribirle en Obamacare. Si necesita auyuda, pĂdame.
Would you all mind boosting this? I don’t usually ask, but Obamacare is a big deal for me. I haven’t had to dose anyone with veterinary antibiotics in years, and I really want to keep it that way.
